Today was a GREAT day!

I knew I was going step on the scale when I hit the gym today….I felt like I had made some progress in that department….so, I took the leap of faith…

it read…..259

YES…..I had made it under 260 lbs…I am only 4 pounds away from the weight I was at when I graduated from the police academy in 1998…I am only 29 pounds away from my goal of 230 lbs…I was PUMPED!

I proceeded to bang out an incredible leg workout with another round of 30 minutes of cardio….

Today was a great day! I look forward to my next date with the scale….I own it!

Another 30 minutes of cardio…

So maybe the first round wasnt a fluke I was able to grind out another 30 minutes of cardio…

Over the last couple of days I have picked my cardio up…laid down some money for some personal training sessions…but, I got to get my diet in check….I’m not eating enough period…

Between working midnight shift and all the other things going on in my life it seems eating right takes a back seat…its so hard and time consuming…and expensive…that makes it so tough to stay on track…

I vow to get it straight!

*Contest note* Up’d my hydroxycut to the 2 doses twice a day and it threw my sleep all out of wack…I think I slept 5 hours over a 48 hour period…not sure how I can take them with my schedule…When I get to sleep…I need to sleep….I will continue taking the required doses…

I will also be checking my stats this week and posting them online…I think I’ve made some progress in the weight loss department….hopefully the scale will reflect it…stay tuned!

30 Minutes of Cardio!!!!

I know to most of the people on here 30 minutes of cardio might not be a big deal, but to me I consider it a milestone. I have been trying to reach 30 minutes for the past couple of weeks, but kept coming up short. Not sure what pushed me over the edge…I think it was the crappy workout the night before…but I did it! and there is no turning back now. MY goal is to do 2 30 minute cardio sessions 4 to 5 days per week.

The rest of my workout went pretty well also….I did shoulders and abs. I have been writing my workouts down in a notebook and I need to enter them onto my page, but haven’t done so yet…I’ll work on it.

*contest note* I have decided to hire a personal trainer for a couple of workouts. After watching all of them train different people I decided on this one girl. She is a former competive bodybuilder and her clients all look like they are getting the most for their money. I told her I want her to kick my a$$…I really need the extra push.

I also start day 4 of the Muscletech Hydroxycut Hardcore and up my dose to 2 pills twice a day. This is going to be hard for me because of my schedule, but I plan on taking my first dose when I wake up after working midnight shift. I’ll take the second dose right before I go into work.

Keep it going people we are a couple of weeks into this thing….

Last night sucked!

Alright todays blog is going to be a little bit of a rant! Because of court and other items I needed to take care of for the day I was unable to get to the gym until a little after 8 pm. I didnt want to be there…my arm was sore from updates on my tattoo…I had no energy whats so ever…I forced my way through a back…triceps workout…but to be honest..it sucked! Top it off my legs hurt from leg day I skipped cardio…way to go loser!

I have gotta pick my game up….PERIOD! I will back at it today for shoulders/abs/cardio. I expect a much better work out today…

A couple of issues I have with the gym and I wonder if people agree with me…

1) Men should NEVER EVER wear spandex pants/shorts! I have yet to meet a machine that I might snag my shorts or pants on that would require me to wear spandex. Plus unless your running the 40 yards dash at the NFL combine and need the extra speed they look BAD….

2) The two inch rep…..I watch people lift all day…thats why I like going to the gym…however I wonder if you get any benefit what so ever from lifting a ton of weight only 2 inches…these guys kill me! How about you lower the weight and then perform a full rep…I’m no expert, but I think that might be better for you.

3) Having long talks in the gym….I don’t come to the gym to be social…yes, I do like looking at the ladies and flirting….but, to stand around and have 20..30 minutes conversations is a complete and utter waste of time…I’ll give you a head nod and keep it moving!

Leg day complete!

Yesterday I was finally able to do my long over due leg workout. I will post my workout later, but thanks to one of the suggestions here on my blog I was able to do free weight squats after doing some warm up for my traps. I didn’t go too heavy doing 3 sets at 225. More on the rest of the workout later…

Day two of the hydroxycut hardcore…so far so good…still doing the one dose twice daily. I am trying to eat every 2 to 3 hours..decent foods..not great…but getting there.

Today I am getting some more work done on my tattoo…I am so looking forward to it! I have probably 3 or 4 more visits until its complete. I will take a pic and post it later…

Another day lost…

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Well lets just say my mother in law left earlier and the boss wouldnt let me hit the gym..again. Monday is a new day and I am going to re-focus this week and am going to again try 2 a day cardio sessions. Monday I will also begin using my Muscletech Hydroxycut Hardcore. I will keep everyone posted on how its working. I am also going to try and get my weight checked later this week.

I took some updated progress pics but havent been able to find the cable for the danm camera…its in here somewhere.

Today..I WILL BE doing legs…no excuses…nothing will stop me…who am I trying to kid? Anyone that knows my wife…knows shes in charge…her transformation has been incredible…well worth the $!

Lost several days…

Lets just say that the boss wouldnt let me leave the house while she recovered from surgery…can’t say that I blame her, but by day four of no gym I was going berserk. Thank god my mother-in-law came on friday and I was able to hit the gym saturday. I decided to chest/triceps because I had missed so much time.

Smith machine incline bp 205 (12) 225 (9) 235 (7) 195 (12) (Did very slow reps at 195)

Flat bench DB 70 (12) 75 (12) 80 (12) 85 (9)

Decline bench DB 50 (15) 55 (15) 65 (12) 70 (12)

I then finished my chest workout with 4 different cable movements hitting all areas of my chest. I did triceps pressdowns, rope pull downs, one handed press to hit my triceps. I finished my workout with 20 minutes of cardio.

Sunday will be leg day….

Props to a great husband!

Okay April 15th blog is going to be me tooting my own horn…my wife had her own transformation surgery today and I was there every step of the way…but…she forgot to mentioned that I would be waking ever 2 to 3 hours to give her meds…walk her to the bathroom…and clean iky things…did I complain? Nope….I did it and will continue to do so that she can get back on her feet…

She is going to look B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!…..and smoking hot!!!!!!!!!!!

Ran out of time for cardio…poor excuse but I was on a time schedule and had to pick up the kids…Working another overtime detail this evening at the local TGI Fridays….

Again tomorrow is a rest day…weds in triceps/back

Superset w/straight bar front raises 30 (15) 4 sets

machine cable behind the back one arm side raises 6 (12) 4 sets

cable front trap rows 42.5 (15) 4 sets

superset w/rope front raises 25 (12) 4 sets

db shrugs 90 (10) 4 sets

During the workout I would perform ab movements during rest periods. I attempted to do cardio, but my IPOD froze on me and I was so pissed I left to try and get it fixed….

Tomorrow I will be doing biceps/chest…tuesday will be a rest day because my wife is having her own transformation surgery and I must be present and take care of her like a good husband should…can’t wait to see her own results…
