March 30th

Today is an example of where my work schedule gets in the way of being heathly. I am off of work tonight, but have to be at the training academy monday morning at 8 am. So that means I could sleep for very long so that I would be able to sleep tonight. So, after working all night I slept for about 2 1/2 hours….I woke up feeling like crap and not motivated at all…..and paid the price for it at the gym…

I hit the gym about 430 and had a lack luster workout….I lifted great, but didnt do any cardio or abs…granted I had done 6 days straight of cardio, but as fat as I am I have got to pick up the pace….

My plan is to get up and do cardio and abs before I leave for the academy….wish me luck.

Working midnight shift is not like it used to be…I have been off of the midnight shift since 02 and can remember being able to sleep during the day like a vampire, but now I find the light keeps me awake…need to paint the windows black…lol….I’m sure the wife would go for that one…

Woke up around 2 pm and hit the gym….I currently train at the Golds Gym in Laurel and when I got to the gym the one piece of equipment I need to train hard…..my ipod….was dead. WTF? This might have not been so bad if Golds music channel actually played good music…add the fact that you can barely hear it makes it even worse..

On to the workout….

Today was chest/triceps…I did incline smith machine press today for my first movement. I try to rotate the first exercise each workout. I did 5 different exercises for chest today. Also after some late night reading at 7-11 last night I decided to try a vary my cable movements by raising and lowering the cables with each set. I loved this…my chest was pumped after the workout…I will def use this tech again. I did 27 minutes of cardio later in the evening at my home gym…however I did not do my 2 exercises for triceps..ran out of time before I had to pick my daughter up from daycare…

Tomorrow is back/biceps/abs…..until then…

Day two went okay. After being up almost 24 hours I was able to do 20 minutes of cardio before I went to bed. I have an overtime detail scheduled this afternoon so I will not be lifting today. Tommorrow is chest/triceps day. I’ll keep you posted.

First day…

I figured since I posted my pictures today for the transformation contest, that I would also start to keep a daily log of my bodybuilding activities. So…here it goes…

I have currently been doing a 5 days on 2 days off workout plan. I don’t keep the same days everyweek as my work schedule (midnight shift police officer) sometimes gets in the way. Having kids and a wife sometimes get in the way too!

Today was triceps/chest day. I try to do 4 to 6 main movements for each bodypart that I am training. I am currently doing 4 sets per movement. On triceps day I end with two movements for the chest. I try to alternate the two chest movements every workout.

The workout went great and ended with 25 minutes of cardio, but 1:45 in the gym is a long time. I got to keep up the intensity and shorting rest periods between movements.

On the diet side I cooked dinner tonight….chicken…spanish rice (bad choice…wifes choice) and veggies. Will take some of the chicken with me tonight while I am working along with a protein drink and some beef jerky.

On the contest note…tried to upload my pictures in the contest blog, but couldnt get it to work. I did get them uploaded on my profile…so please check them out and try not to laugh to hard….*note the tattoo is a work in progress and I will be getting more work done next week* 

Enough for now….I might try and includes some updates while I am working…..
