Still sick, busy, etc

October 13, 2008

Hi everyone,

Well, I didn’t find the time to take my 30 day pics so I guess that takes me out of the running.  I’ve been so busy as a single mom, graduate student, going through a divorce, working, trying to find time to workout, the kids and I getting sick, etc.  I took about a week off from Amphetalean when I was stressed out simply because I couldn’t remember to take it.  To be honest with you, I probably would have forgot my head if it wasn’t attached.  I’m back taking the product again and loving it.  Although the energy it provides is wonderful, I would have to say that my favorite thing about the product is the mental focus it gives me.  I think that it is really helping me through this difficult time in my life and am so thankful to have been chosen to participate in this contest.  I will continue taking the product, losing weight, and writing about my results.  I couldn’t be happier with the way things are going right now. I have went down 4 pants sizes from a 14 to a 10 and have lost 14 lbs. Yeh!

I’ve been sick

September 20, 2008

Ok, I got the bugs from the kids only twice as bad.  I’ve been sick since Tuesday.  I went to school on Wednesday at felt terrible. When I came home I took my temp and found out it was 101.7. No gym for me all week.  I’m feeling a little better and took the kids hiking.  Nothing extreme.  I feel terrible about my workouts.  I’m still loving the amphetalean.  Not only does it give me energy, but I feel that it is a mood enhancer at the same time.  I’m not sure how I would be coping with being sick, divorce, school, single parenting, work, etc.   I can’t wait to get back to the gym next week!

Diet Sucks

September 15, 2008

My diet has sucked for a while and I couldn’t go to the gym today as my boys are home from daycare throwing up.  :(

Update

September 11, 2008

I had a great workout today.  Actually, I always enjoy leg day.  I did squats, leg presses, leg curls, leg extensions, calf-raises and 20 minutes on the step mill.  My diet has been off for the past few days as I haven’t had any healthy food in the house, but I’m getting back on track.  No weight loss to post.

Back to drinking coffee

September 9, 2008

Ok, my energy has been running low lately.  I’m up to drinking half a pot of coffee again.  I guess I’m probably pushing myself too hard between late night wakeups with the kids, to early morning study sessions and then working out throughout the day. Maybe I have a high stimulant tolerance?  It seems that going to the gym energizes me a little though.  I’ve been losing weight quickly and decided to bump up my carbs and fat intake.  I’m down another pound to 145 lbs from 152 in 12 days. I’m down from size 12/13 jeans to a 10. My body has responded really well to the cardio and I’m keeping it at 20 minutes a day.  I’m sticking with the same weight schedule and lifting 3-5 different exercises a day. My son started headstart yesterday so I will no longer be able to bike the kids to school together so I will lose out on exercising there.  My cardio consists of sprints on the treadmill or 20 minutes on the stepmill. I guess that is it for now.

1 week update

September 4, 2008

Today begins day 9 and I realized that I didn’t specifically indicate where I was at after the first week.  So far I’ve had amazing results. I’m down 6 lbs, and my pants went from 12/14 to a 10.  Despite the fact that I am soooo busy right now, I have great energy. My diet is spot on eventhough I don’t have much groceries in the house.  In fact, I’m having a bowl of oatmeal with blueberries & wheat germ, and a chicken breast for breakfast.  The hardest thing for me is finding enough time in my busy schedule to exercise as much as I would like.  I’m finding the time, but sometimes the exercise doesn’t always involve going to the gym.  Currently my training is as follows:

Monday: Back, 20 minutes stepmill level 6

Tuesday: Shoulders, 10 minutes of sprints treadmill at level 9, 30 seconds on, 30 seconds rest)

Wednesday: various Cardio for 40 minutes

Thursday: Legs, Stepmill 20 minutes level 6

Friday: Biceps & Triceps, 10 minutes sprints

I’m also biking the kids in the trailer to and from school.  That is an additional 80 lbs and 1 mile each direction. Ab workout is done three-four times a week.  My greatest challenge right now is that I’m losing the fat on my belly, but I’m being left with lose skin.  The pregnancies seem to have really destroyed my midsection.  I think this will be the most challenging part of transforming my body.  I’m starting out this transformation with little muscle and lots of fat and am wondering how I will drop fat and build muscle at the same time.  Anyways, I have to get going.

Back from the gym

September 2, 2008

Ok, I biked the kids to school today (1 mile of flat terrain) and then headed to the gym.  I did pullups, one-arm dumbell rows, seated rows, lat pull-downs, seated dumbell press, side lat dumbell raises, shoulder press, abs.  My pullups were hard.  Overall, I pushed myself in the gym, but the weights felt heavy today.  Oh, and the scale actually says that I have gained a pound.  I’m not overly worried as I can flucuate up to 5 lbs on any given day.  Besides, I’m fitting into clothes that I haven’t been able to fit into in over 5 years.  Yeah!!!

Back from a wonderful weekend!

September 2, 2008

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  The kids and I had a great time.  Here are some of the things we did:  biked out  to see the Bears, Bighorn Sheep & horses twice; went to a BBQ, Baked Peanut Butter & Jelly Thumbprints; had a picnic, played catch with the football (the kids loved this; couldn’t stop laughing); went to the playground; picked out & bought yarn so that I can begin making their Halloween costumes; read stories; walked to the duck pond (about 1 mile roundtrip) & feed the ducks; went grocery shopping; cleaned the house; and probably many other things.   As you can see we had a great weekend.  The amphetalean is giving me gobs of energy.  As you can see, I didn’t make it to the gym at all over the weekend.  I don’t have a babysitter for my boys when school is out and daycare is closed.  That’s ok though as that means that I get to spend a great deal of time with them which I prefer.  I did get some form of workout in by biking them out to see the bears.  I pulled the boys, their blankets, toys, picnic lunch and hot cocoas about two miles in the trailer up and down the hills of Pullman. Between the boys and the trailer that is roughly about an additional 80 lbs.  While the boys were taking their naps each day I got many more things done: knitted one of the hats for their Halloween costumes, homework, dishes, talking to family, etc.  All in all it was a great weekend.  I’m down about 3 lbs so far in the six days I’ve been taking amphetalean.  My diet has been be basic.  Nothing really to report.  It hasn’t fit into the diet that I originally posted, but overall I’m eating clean.  I’m eating every 2 1/2-3 hours either 5 or 6 meals a day.  I’m eating oatmeal, brown rice, potatoes, chicken, eggs, onions, green beans, brocolli, tea, blueberries, cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, and bananas.  I’ve got to go get the boys up so that I can take them to school.  I’ll post more about my gym workouts after I actually have one. :)   I hope everyone has a great day.

Here we go! It’s time…

August 28, 2008

I received the amphetalean last night when I got home from school.  Yeh!  I was surprised at the small size of the box, but then I remembered that you take only one a day.  That means I will not accidentally forget to take the pills since I only take one a day.  So, today i took my first pill.  So far so good.  I took the pill at 5 a.m. and so it has been 5 hours and I have tons of energy.  However, I don’t feel jittery at all.  I opened the fridge today only to find out that I am out of everything.  Mother Hubbard’s cupboards are bare.  I’m out of chicken, oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.  What a day to start a transformation challenge.  I just have to make do with what I have.  I grilled up some lean beef patties, cooked green beans, and threw some potatoes in my bag to take to school.  I know some of you are cringing at the thought.  Well, I have to do what I can do.  Being a full-time student, mother, working part-time, and going through a divorce, I don’t have money or time.  Nonetheless, you will see remarkable changes from me.  I’m committed to this challenge and transforming my body for both my kids and myself.  Sure, I may face challenges throughout this time, but I will give 100%. I’m just an ordinary women trying to change my body in extraordinary ways.  Thanks Beast Sports for the opportunity and good luck to the rest of the contestants.

Back in the Gym!

August 26, 2008

Ok, yesterday I stepped back in the gym for the first time I believe in two years.  My workout consisted of: pullups, one arm dumbell rows, seated rows close-grip, lat pull-downs, and 10 minutes of sprints (30 seconds on, 30 seconds rest).  Overall, my goal is to figure out where everything in the weight room is and start developing a routine so that when the amphetalean arrives I’ll be ready to go.  Yesterday was my first day of eating clean again.  Just before my pictures were taking I was eating sooooo much crap.  I felt great all day yesterday.  Yesterday was my first day back to school as well and I was also trying to get adjusted to my school schedule.  Today I worked on shoulders.   I did dumbell press, side lat dumbell raises, front dumbell raises, some ab work, and 12 minutes at level 8 on the step mill.  I know that it doesn’t sound like much, but I’m so out of shape that it was a great workout.  I can’t wait to add amphetalean to the mix and see what happens.  Somehow I forgot all my meals at home on my kitchen floor (by the front door) today, so I will be improvising.  I have some nutri-grain bars, protein power, and meal replacement shakes that I keep in my desk just in case.  I’m so dissapointed that I forgot my food.  I was really looking forward to the grilled chicken, brown rice, and zucchini that I prepared last night.  Oh well!  Well I’m off to get ready to teach.  I wish everyone a good day.
