CLA isomers: There are differences
I've been curious about why CLA (conjugate linoleic acid) seems to have different effects on weight loss...and sometimes not being effective at all.
It seems that there are different isomers (or arrangements of the atoms) that determine the efficacy of this supplement. Apparently, the one that works is the trans-10, cis-12-CLA. Not only does it help with burning fat; but it also reduces leptin resistance, could be an anti-cancer agent, and may have anti-inflammatory effects.
I'll be changing my CLA supplement to one that has the t10c12 version listed as an ingredient. We'll see how that works.
Now, I didn't know that CLAs could be so finicky. I have pretty much given up on loosing fat with any kind of fat supplementation. But if it works, let me know.
