The MuscleTech Challenge.. Reconsidered??..

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I know that in my previous post I had writen that I am no fan of MuscleTech suppliments and that its tranformation challenge is out of the question for me.

I am now considering giving their suppliments a shot and moving forward with thier challenge.  I am not 100% sure yet but I do not have much time to make an order and to go for it.  I have always felt that their prices and the type of advertising that has gone along with their suppliments hurts their credibility.  I know that there are many who do swear by their products but at the same time I know many that have not been happy with the results they recieved.

Maybe it is time that I take them on and see what their suppliments can do for me during a short period of time combined with strict diet and training.  What do I have to lose????

I will make my decision one way of the other tomorrow evening..

Feel free to share your thoughts with me.

Suggestions on a transformation challenge? PLEASE RESPOND! :)

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Okay,  I am over the "Biggest Loser" contest at my work and as many of you know I did not win the contest.

I believe I made the greatest transformation of all the competitors since I not only lost the most amount of wieght, but  also gained plently of lean body mass also.  (Take a look at the progress pics ).

As many of you know my ultimate goal is to compete next year in Bill Grant’s Bodybuilding and Figure Classic.  So what was accomplished over the past 16 weeks has taken me to a new level in my fitness and now I am looking for a challenge to bring me to the next phase in my transformation.

What I am would like to know is what would be a good transformation challenge to enter?  My goal is to lose bodyfat and to also gain lean body mass.  I hope this does not come back to bite me in the _SS but I am no fan of MuscleTech suppliments.(so that challenge is out of the question).

With that being said, I would like to know of other 8-16 week tranformation contests out there as I am going to enter one within the next 2 weeks.

Thoughts and suggestions are would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Sooo…come here often?

So I entered this contest that was being offered by my employer sometime towards the end of January, begining of February which they called, "The Biggest Loser". Hopefully the guys at the network which hosts the t.v. show with the same name won’t get wind of that and sue them. Anyway, it was a 4 month contest comprised of the employees of the company who wanted the benefit of losing weight AND winning some great prize. I thought, "Wow! What a great motivation to keep me in line with a goal that I wanted to achieve anyway! And there’s prizes!" So with the hardy approval of my wife, I swung into high gear. I cut out lasagna, I cut out soda, I cut out pizza and cheeseburgers, I cut out excessive carbs, I even cut out (when I had the will power) those late-night snack attacks of ice cream, cake or the 1/2 gallon bowls of Fruity Pebbles. I lifted thousands of pounds of weights, I ran hundreds of miles on a treadmill (sometimes in my own living room!), I SUFFERED through hours in the sauna and hot tub (and those were some GRUELING hours, let me tell you) all done with the prize on my horizon.

Well, to make a long story short…I didn’t win. DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The woman who won lost 39 pounds, for a total percentage lost of 19.2% I believe. I, on the other hand, lost 42.5 pounds, for a total percentage lost of 16.9%. AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!

So, I didn’t win the trip to Las Vegas. But I did win my health, the knowledge that there are people out there who understand and will support me during my times of struggle, and the opportunity to see about 35 people lose hundreds of pounds. All in all, it was a great victory! Sure, I’m not going to see half nekked women dancing in shiny costumes on stage or drive down "the strip" in a limo or be able to tell everyone that I went to "sin city" for free, but I have something way better than that…I have a family who loves me (even though there’s less of me), a great group of people who helped push me towards my goals in a great gym (Yay Thoerbeck’s!!!), Bill Grant who took the time out of his extremely busy schedule to give me pointers and of course, all of you who continued to reassure me that I COULD do it, no matter how many times I had to "slay the snack monster" at 2 A.M.

I AM VICTORIOUS!!!

Feel free to get up, raise your arms in the traditional Rocky Balboa stance and jump up and down to, "Eye of the Tiger" with me cause that’s how I feel right about now.

FitCent is EXHAUSTED. Mainly, I believe, from cutting out pretty much all carbs from his diet for the past couple of days. He only has a full two more days to go before the end of the contest that he’s in for work, and it’s going to be a fun time in the ol’ FitCent household!

Oh, let me introduce myself…I’m FitCentsWife. I’m writing his blog entry with his permission because he’s sleeping right now. He wanted to let everyone know how he’s doing. Anyway, on with his progress!

Okay, so, I can’t give too much away because apparently a few people where he works are monitoring his progress through this site. That’s the main reason why he hasn’t posted any current progress (and he’s had PLENTY) except for pictures. The last weigh-in, from what he’s said, is on Friday at 10:00 A.M. It’s so exciting!

He’s been keeping in close contact with Bill Grant concerning his diet and what he should do as far as training goes, and I believe that it’s showing that he’s been dedicated to doing what needs to be done. I mean, just LOOK AT THE PICTURES! I tried to talk him into doing another one tonight, but he was just too tired. Waking up at 5:30 A.M., only taking in about 5 to 7 grams of carbs a day and having to deal with a wife who, apparently, is having "sympathy tiredness and grouchiness" (hey, I’M writing the blog and that’s my excuse so I’m sticking with it) with him has wiped him out.

We’re supposed to go to see my relatives tomorrow and Thursday before they go back to Alaska. It’ll be interesting to see how that goes, what with his dietary restrictions and all. I’m thinking of slipping everyone a Micky right after I get there so there’ll be no problems, but I’d like for Brian to actually interact with everyone rather than just sleep through it. We’ll just have to see how it goes.

OH LORDY I’M TIRED! Like I said, I think I’m having sympathy exhaustion, so I’m going to go now. I’m sure that FitCent will be the first to post about outcome of the contest as soon as he finds out about the outcome. Look, I’m repeating myself. Not a good sign.
