West Texas Classic
Hi Everyone!
Here is a run down of how the weekend went:
Good News:
Won my masters class. So exciting and so much fun. Scared to death, the jitters never went away but it was great.
Bad News:
Didn’t place in the open figure.
Not sure where i finally ended up as the scoresheets are not out as of yet.
The turnout was really odd… very low. There were only 9 of us in the open figure and only 4 in the masters. Usually at this show there are way more figure girls than body builders so it was a suprise to say the least. BUT everyone was really nice and it was a great way to see how everything works.
It was odd to be competing against girls that were normally in totally different height classes but it was the only way to make it fair as otherwise we all would have won a trophy… that would not have been a deserved placing and who wants that.
I learned so very much at this show and I am so excited that I decided to do it. I got some feedback from the judges (mainly that I need to not be so "stringy") and met some really amazing people.
I learned that I have a LOT to fix… need to add some mass to my upper body and take a little away from the glute area.
Also that my posing is for s:&t! have got to figure that out…. HAVE to!
I learned that depleting is NOT a good idea for me! The day before the show I woke up and my ass was literally MIA! It was the most disgusting and amazing thing I have ever seen! HA! I actually had a 70 year old mans ass!!!! If I pulled the skin (which by the way was now hanging there as if someone had tossed it at me and it stuck…vs actually belonging to me) it would stay exactly where I put it… absolutely disgusting and really the funniest thing I have ever seen. Obviously in need of water, I drank about a gallon in an hour and chowed on any and all carbs within reach. Actually ate a burger the night before and then again between morning and evening shows. Next time around depletion will be nowhere in the game plan that is for sure.
Will use this next three weeks to do as much as I can in posing and carbing up a bit more. Then go on to the Ronnie. honestly if I had not already paid for this show and made so many plans around it I would most likely skip it…. but I have a photo shoot and airline ticktes, hotel and of course the entry fee all lined up and suits coming etc. So I feel pretty committed to doing it. Following the ronnie coleman I will take off about 8+ months and try to add some muscle to my back and glutes and come back for the shows in Oct and Nov.
Have to say that the best part was seeing my husband so proud. He was so great and such a wreck! He was really incredible!
So that is about it. All in all a great experience and I am so glad I did it.
