Did the bartending thing at a charity gig Friday night, went from 9:15p to 1:15a without anything to drink (I’m not into crap beer). Woke up feeling like crap yesterday, lack of hydration to blame. My intake of fluids is bad on weekends, don’t trust H2O at home and don’t carry enough water bottles with me. Anyways, stupidly went out and had a beer last night on top of already being low on fluids. So, not enough sleep last night got added in with the dehydration to make for a possibly bad Sunday morn. Took the reins first thing this morn and bought myself a gallon of H2O, which I’ve been working on steadily. Also hydrated well at the gym during my workout and I’m luckily feeling fine! Dehydration, don’t let it happen to you!

That’s really what I feel like asking right now, my day has just started and already things seem to be coming apart!
Hit the gym for a very light workout last night and I am extremely sore this morn. Got crap sleep, really bad night in bed and I have no idea why. Battery died in alarm clock that I decided to rely on for first time in ages (wanted cell phone and it’s alarm off in order to avoid late night caller), so I was an hour late to work. Manager did not get message e-mailed to his desk about my tardiness so he and I had a little friction when I made it in. And the cook at my favorite breakfast taco place quit, new cook sucks and my morning treat was not worth the extra calories!
Next?

Though I went to sleep at about my usual time last night (between midnight and 1:00AM), I got up about 1/2 an hour earlier than normal today. Used the extra minutes to take my Shayla-pup for a good, long walk and to fully enjoy my morning shower. Feeling Great today, and I want to keep it that way!
A few days ago I accomplished some important goals I’d set when I joined BB.com last year. My body weight is down 20 pounds, I’ve dropped body fat to the 20% range, and I’ve lost 3 inches at my waist. At the same time, I’ve added a bit of muscle, increased my flexibility, and managed to clean my diet up quite a bit.
So, where to go now? My body weight is within 5# of what I’d like it to be, and I feel I can lose another inch at the waist while dropping that weight. Last year I’d wanted to increase the distances I can bike and swim, and I admit that I didn’t really make progress there. Recently surprised myself by being able to run a bit further than I could a few months ago and that was nice.
Hmm, maybe I should focus on the Cardio Vascular/Endurance aspects of Training and see where that takes me?

Took my back out Sat morn, missed two meals on Sat (slept through them), had brown rice sushi for dinner (extra carbs, extra late) and pint of Woodchuck Pear Cider (ditto!). Yesterday, ate clean but skipped all workouts. Most I managed to do was go for a walk/hike with my pup and a friend, and that hurt enought that I am glad I called everything else off. Simply need to take time and get back to doing this right!

One of my year long goals that I wanted to accomplish by the end of this month was to drop my bodyweight to 150 or under. As of last week, I was at 152, down 3 pounds from early April. Less than 5 pound weight loss in over a month of workouts and trying to eat clean, but the difference showed. More veins, angles, and new curves in the mirror plus I had to go out and buy new pants or risk embarrasing myself! Did also note a slight increase in my lifting totals to go along with my "ounces of fat to muscle" conversion. Recently tried running again and found I’d added over 20 yards to how far I can go without my back giving out. Best of all, I had an absolutely great time getting complimented on the "solidity" of my abs on two different occasions last weekend. No, there is no visual sign of my stomach muscles, but two different women (one with BB experience) felt them and were very impressed. (stroke that ego!)
So, two or three pounds above my goal for 05/31/09, maybe I’ll drop those (I am out of milk today and using water) or maybe I won’t (going out with a friend tomorrow), but I’m declaring Victory right now! I am very happy with the changes I’ve made in my lifestyle (cut out sugar, cut out carbonation, getting rid of caffeine), and I intend to continue Living a Healthy Lifestyle for a good, long time!
