Stress and Lifting

March 4, 2009

It’s amazing…the economic climate. I think about how stressed out everyone is, people out of work and not able to find something new. I consider myself lucky to have a job right now, a good job that is actually going very well. After 6 years, I still put an amazing amount of pressure on myself to perform and do my best. I guess it’s paying off, but life is just really hard right now. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s hard. I thank my lucky stars that I started this Transformation program. It has gotten me in the gym 5-6 days a week, and I use that time to release the stress of everyday life and clear my head. I probably zone out a lot and don’t even realize it. LOL. I guess it’s a good thing that I work out alone.

Thank goodness for physical fitness. I don’t know what I would do without it.

Bench Personal Best

March 2, 2009

So I hit 225lbs 7x’s this morning, and that was at 7am. I can’t tell you how great it felt. I never thought I would see the day that I could lift that much. It just goes to show how great the 12 Week Transformation program has been for me. To see and feel the progress is just so satisfying. For those of you who haven’t started your own transformation, it’s not too late. Start today, be consistent, and you’ll see the results like I have.

Funny thing about Water…

February 18, 2009

I’ve truly embraced the fact that water is to the body what gas is to cars (and now hybrid engines). Sure you hear this all the time, but I didn’t really embrace it until I started on this Transformation plan almost 7 weeks ago. The more I drink, the better I feel. The less I drink, the more I retain. Drinking more and more water helps to flush out water weight in my body. I guess it’s what they call trial and error. Obviously there is more to fueling the body than water, but coming from someone who doesn’t like to drink it, water is absolutely necessary. That’s my lesson for the day.

Traveling w/Supps?

February 10, 2009

How do you recommend traveling with supplements? Xtend and NOXplode just about got me detained at the airport scanner. I thought I would be proactive and pull the powders out of my bag and show them that I had them. They all looked at each other and didn’t know what to do. They nervously defaulted to the airport police who made me explain what the powders were and why I had them. My pill box was fine. They eventually let me go but I’d like to avoid that in the future.

There has to be small portable plastic bottles/containers that I can pick up.

BB.com’ers Rock!

February 5, 2009

I must say that after four weeks, I find myself logging on a couple times a day to read up on what others are up to, what’s working, what’s not working, and the progress that we’re all making. I’m hooked! This is the exact kind of motivation that I need in my life right now and I want to thank BB.com and all of you out there. Your enthusiasm is infectious! After all of my emails with questions about diet, exercise, and supplements, you still keep responding. Thanks for being so generous and kind. We’re all in this together!

Hydroxycut Hardcore

February 4, 2009

I’ve tried a few thermogenic supplements and Hardcore is by far the best…at least it was for me. I’ve already been through Xenadrine and one other a few years back, but neither sustained it’s effect like Hydroxycut. I followed the instructions carefully, as you’ll notice the effect within about 15 minutes. Hydroxycut helped me get down to 205 from 226. After going through one bottle, I took four weeks off and then hit it again. I could tell that my body had adpated to Hardcore as I wasn’t as jittery the second go around.

For those who have used it and stuck to a consistent diet and workout plan, did it work? Did it not work? I’m interested to hear about it.

I recomend it! Just be sure to carefully follow the directions and be consistent about taking it.

Do you smoke cigs?

January 28, 2009

Walking back to my place today I was amazed at how many people were outside of their buildings smoking. Living in California, I guess I just don’t see it, or notice it as much anymore. Walking by this one guy and seeing him light up, I was glad that that is one habbit I never picked up. Eating healthier foods and working on a consistent and serious basis has me feeling all reved up naturally. I don’t need the caffein, and I’m glad I don’t need a cig at 8am. Everyone’s situation is differenet, and I completely respect that. I don’t know what’s going on in that guy’s life. All I can do is hope that everyone reading this will get to the point where they don’t need to smoke anymore, but rather use exercise as a means to calm and relaxation.

So as I walked by that guy, I glanced over and said with a tone of banter…"Buddy you should try exercise instead."

I let out a nervous laugh, hoping that he wouldn’t be offended, to which he responded…"I’m a work in progress man, a work in progress."

Aren’t we all!

Mind said YES…Body said NO!

January 27, 2009

Does that make sense? Well, you get the picture. After getting to bed late last night, getting up early this morning to catch a flight, I landed in NYC, took one look in the mirror and couldn’t sworn I had been up for two days. Blood shot eyes, tired, and not in the mood to work out. I pushed through, changed my clothes, and hoofed it to my gym in NYC just four blocks away. Surprisingly I got through my back workout, but my biceps just would not give me what I was asking today. So I finished one exercise and hit the eliptical. Ten minutes on and I hit the showers. Mentally I was ready to go but today my body was telling me no.

I guess this is one of those time where you should listen to your body. I’ll get a good nights rest and be ready for legs tomorrow. I’ll even finish up some bicep exercises that I didn’t do today. Charge!

Spare tire is shrinking!

January 26, 2009

I must say it’s a pretty good feeling to sit in my office, and for the first time in a long time, not feel my gut hanging over my jeans. I mean, I feel alive, I’m sitting up straight, and I just feel all around good about myself. This new way of living, living healthy, is amazing! The weight isn’t necessarily coming off as fast as I would like, but I’m seeing changes in my body that are pleasing, and my clothes fit so much better than they used to. I can tell that I’m going to need to go down a size in jeans here fairly soon.

It’s been three weeks and I can’t wait to see what I feel and look like in another three weeks. Stay the course, be diligent about your exercise and nutrition, and the results will come. I’m addicted to something for the first time in my life and I feel great about sharing it.
