“Cornerstone” Word of the Day

 Greeting all! be encouraged

<strong />

A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives and in his own house.”    Mark 6

            I can recall when my little brother received Christ: started going to church, reading the Word. He tried to share that with me and our other brothers, but we laughed and mocked him. I could see how frail he was that moment talking about God, he was vulnerable. I didn’t receive the Word from him because he was after all my little brother.

            Years went by and he grew in faith and in favor with God and men, while I struggled with the infancy of life.

            As of today when I come against some mountains, guess who I call for sound Godly counsel? You guess right my little brother. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” That verse fits this to the T.

            Many times in life, we can look at someone, knowing how they where, who they are to us. And over look the Work of God or the hand of God on them. To my shame I rejected not my little brother but God. Yet God was faithful to bring me closer to Him by using another one of my brothers.

            There’s a sad part in verse 5, “5And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6And he marveled because of their unbelief.

<strong />

             This is to our shame at times, when God raise us a man or woman of faith within our own house, community yet we reject them because of the familiarity we’ve always known them for. At times we can’t see God in them or receive the message of God from them.

             In retrospect heeding my little brothers Word I’m sure would have save me much headaches and heartaches, besides it was God Himself instructing me through him.

             Other people of God also received the same reception: Moses, the Apostles, even the teachers of today: Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Bishop Thompson, just to name a few had faced some sort of rejections in their calling to minister to the lost and family members.

             In conclusion learning from my past also from these verses, it is a clear understanding that Christ wants us to be aware that God can bring up anyone He chooses. Even if we are familiar with that person, and if that person God raises up is rejected, God is relentless to bring us comfort, love and mercy. It has come to my attention it’s all about Him. For those who feel rejected by your “own” when you bring the good news, see also that Jesus face the same, yet God continued to use Him elsewhere. Even though I didn’t receive the Word from my little brother that time God used him elsewhere. In the past I heard a friend of his stated, how when he speaks things starts to happen, that to me was just a witness he is a man of faith in God. And God is still blessing him to be a blessing.

             I pray that we are sensitive to the hand of God on an individual so we wont look a, “gift horse in the mouth.” In other words take a God for granted.
