Could it really be true?!!!

So i am 142 lbs 5′6. I lift as heavy as possible in the gym 6 days a week. I want to build muscle! i just did some calculations and am used to thinking 1400-1500 cals was good for me since i didnt want to gain fat. well im over it. im tired of not seeing gains in muscle. So…just did my calculation for calorie needs and apparently i need 1857 to maintain and 2357 to gain…Really?! That is awesome news just worried about gaining fat. i know i contradict myself but just remember i amĀ  girl and have always been focused on losing weight. I WANT MUSCLE NOW! I am so devoted ad constantly think about what im eating and blah blah blah…so i will do whatever it takes. i feel like ive been trying so long but dont make progress with muscle. Now im trying it your way bb.com! Could it really be true that i have to eat MORE?! That is awesome news.

How many grams of protein are you taking in?

Also, what is your routine…how many excercises per body part are you doing? Number of reps and sets?

All of those factors come into play as to what kinds of results you’ll get.

I’m no expert but 2300 cals is alot for a girl of your size. I could see upping your protien intake, but thats more calories than I eat in an average day and I am 224lbs.

It all is based on the split of cals. are you 20% 30% 50%?? You would need to have more cals in the Protein portion than anything else. Just what I have learned.

I agree with everyone. That’s too high of an intake for you. I’m between 1200 and 1400 calories and I’m gaining muscle no problem. It may have to do with your diet and the protein you’re intaking. Good luck with your goals!
