Lessons from Noah
My pastor gave a great sermon on Sunday about Noah. It says in Genesis 7:5-6 that Noah was 600 years old. The main sermon note was about staying fit because when you’re old God may ask you to do something really big.
Here are the sermon notes:
Exercise Daily: start small and start today!
If you smoke - stop!
Eat right: energy comes from what you eat. Soda and fast food will slow you down and add fat.
What I realized is that staying fit and health is not just about vanity, but about being ready to accomplish whatever you are asked or whatever you want to do without worrying about your health. God wants to use a well oiled machine, not a broken down, rusty, oldĀ piece of junk.
It was motivating both spiritually and physically.
Here was his closing point: Don’t let the best you have done so far be the standard for the rest of your life.
Here’s the full sermon if you want to listen to it:

Great post Eric, thx for sharing that. I agree that we can be more effective servants if we’re healthy & fit. I won’t lie and say there’s no vanity in the mix, but after being out of shape & less healthy, I know I’m more ready when called. Besides, I’ll have 2 teenagers in my mid-late 50’s…..gonna need all the help to keep up!
BTW: If had even a little of your height, I’d have abs that show!

Absolutely true. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Don’t smoke or drink Him out, but bring your body under strict control. Present your body as a living sacrifice.
Thanks, Eric - and may the peace of God be with you.
