My pastor gave a great sermon on Sunday about Noah. It says in Genesis 7:5-6 that Noah was 600 years old. The main sermon note was about staying fit because when you’re old God may ask you to do something really big.
Here are the sermon notes:
Exercise Daily: start small and start today!
If you smoke - stop!
Eat right: energy comes from what you eat. Soda and fast food will slow you down and add fat.
What I realized is that staying fit and health is not just about vanity, but about being ready to accomplish whatever you are asked or wantever you want to do without worry about health. God wants to use a well oiled machine, not a broken down, rusty, old junk yard.
It was motivating both spiritually and physically.
Here was his closing point: Don’t let the best you have done so far be the standard for the rest of your life.
Here’s the full sermon if you want to listen to it:

Let me introduce myself properly - I am the Bodybuilding.com Web Store Manager. I lead a team of great people who are driven to get you the best products and get them on the site fast. We work to keep the products up to date, but with over 8,000 products and counting that can get pretty difficult.
You may ask, "why am I telling you this?" Because I need your help. If you see any page in the store that is out of date or any product you like that we don’t carry, please let me know. Together we can create the best site to help you reach your health and fitness goals.
I will be posting again soon to let you know about some of the great features we have planned for the new year.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Well, I started out strong. I hit the gym and was making some really good gains. But then it hit me. "It?" , you ask? A severe chest cold. I couldn’t even hit 6 reps of any excercise before I convulsed into a huge coughing fit and ran to the nearest water fountain. I grew tired of this ritual and took the next week off. I slumped into a period of lethergy and laziness. You’d think it would be a good time to focus on my other new year’s goals, but no - I decided to get caught up on Heroes and American Gladiator episodes.
I am finally getting over my cold and expect to jump right back in to my goals. I shall continue to post on my progress.

It’s a new year filled with new goals. I’m back in the gym (me and everyone else). After having a digestive system issue and not being able to keep anything down, I lost all my gains from last year (about 15 lbs.). So I’m starting from scratch. I’m hitting the gym hardcore with a new determined focus to make this the best year ever. My life has gotten pretty hectic and I’ve dropped the ball on a lot of things - not this year! I’m restructuring all my priorities. For accountability sake I’m writing this blog.
It seems like new years resolutions are one of two things: wishful thinking or cliched statements with no strategy for completion. My goals are neither - they are heart felt, thought out, well planned, achievable goals.
My goals for this year:
- add 25 lbs. of muscle (no more skinny guy)
- mountain bike at least once a week (March-Sept)
- read my bible more and pray more.
- call my family more often (at least twice a month).
- grow my business to more than just a hobby.
- read two books a month.
- buy a house.
I will create a blog for each goal, outlining my strategy and documenting my progress.
