Yesterday I pushed into a new area, with a little help (spotter) I pushed 397lbs even though it was assisted it felt good knowing that I can reach my goal sooner rather than later. I must say I wasn’t expecting to break through so early but I’m glad that I at least had the intestinal fortitude to try. I also pressed 287lbs for 10 reps, and 353lbs for 3 reps. It was an inspiring night for me. I thank my work out partners for providing me the motivation.

Of late my body has been telling me that I’ve been training a little too hard. I have additional aches and pains, lull in motivation and intensity. I think I need to incorporate some glutimaine in my nutrition maybe some more rest and a few days off. I get so excited about work-out time though once the rush start you forget all about the after effects.

I hit the wall after hump day. I had to take a day off. I have to switch up my plan go 3 days hard 1 day off(light cardio), 2 days on, and 1 day off. See if that will help keep my energy levels and motivation consisten throughout the week

What do you use to motivate you during your solo workouts? I usually listen to some hardcore ass rap or something of that nature when I’m solo in the gym. It just motivates me when I’m knocking down reps while zoning out to MOP’s "Ante up", or some Ludacris "grew up a screw", or even some Onyx "slam". What motivates you in the gym to get that intensity and focus going when your paying your dues in the gym? Are you a old school music head rap, rock, funk, R & B, country what does it for you.

i guess they call it hump day for a reason. I think I need more glutamine in my supplementation. By mid week I feel the results of my intensity in the gym. I’m soar, muscle aches, and lack of motivation LOL. Has not stopped me yet and won’t stop me now. I’m going 6 days a week with 1 day of rest. I’ve been forced to rest on somedays because I just had no motivation to train. It usually start about Humpday though. I used this site as a motivational tool. Look at some of these hardcore bodies and it gives me reason to stick to my training routine.

Hate it or love it nothing gives the upper torso a bang for the buck like a great set of developed pec muscles. Which in turns mean heavy bench (for me anyways). Flies, inclines, declines, pec decks you name it bring the pain. None more satisfying than the flat bench the meat and potatoes of chest training. Setting mind and muscle to the task at hand and pushing like your life depended on it, pump those pecs full of blood and push until you feel it down in your bowels. Go heavy, go hard, or go the hell home.

As a runner I feel that my legs respond better and recover quicker to training than my upper body. For those gymnast and the like out there, is it that way for your upper body. I feel that because of my running background my legs readily respond to training I can see results sometimes in days as opposed to weeks. The grow quickly and recover much better, especially my quads. Do gymnast have this same thing when they train there upper bodies. My legs will be my last area to develop because I feel they need the least help.

Over the next few weeks I plan on increasing my intensity and the amoount of weight I’m pushing. I’m training with two other guys right now and bringing them along for the ride. I have noticed gains, but I feel I can do much better. Adding more deadlifts, straight bar curls, reverse curls, some finishing touches to my under developed areas.
