Team Scivation!

Ok, I have been resting up for the new year. And I am ready. Today is day one for my Team Scivation diet and training. I was a bit leary about doing it at first because of the lack of carbs, but i did not realize that there are carbs in almost everything we eat. then i do get a cheat meal where i can eat what ever i want (in moderation to include good carbs - oatmeal, whole wheat pasta etc). i am feeling good. No new years resolution… i don’t like to call it that. but i have goals for this year and i am totally getting them done. I will go to the gym at 1000. I am so excited! G/G

it is about 4:40 in the evening. i felt great working out. when i did my cardio the machine said my heart rate was 180+ and then up to 207. i did not feel like i was doing much so that did scare me a little. it has been a challenge to keep up with the timing for my meals. i would love to be able to work out first thing in the morning and get it over with. right now i feel a bit nauseous and a little headachey… maybe that is withdrawals from all the mess i would have normally eaten… like something covered in cheese and carbs! sounds about right. i feel like i need to go to the bathroom but then again it goes away. most of the day i have been battling the BG’s (bubble guts). that could also be from the sugar smack cereal from last night after 9pm. LOL. so bad. i think i still have 2-3 meals to go. this day is getting more rough with each minute that goes by!!!

Update

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I missed my goal of 5 days a week working out by one day the week of Dec 2nd and 2 days of the next week. This week is going good so far. I have been eating holiday food when ever the opportunity presents itself. Just craziness! anyway, i have slowed it down and want to focus more on the cardio portion of working out. I think I was trying to do too many things at one time… lose weight, gain muscle, strength. (i think i have said this before. if so, please forgive my redundancy) i will lift weights and do strength exercises, but i will focus more on my cardio. i love to lift weights and i like to dab into the realm that i consider to be heavy. gotta be patient. cardio is truly my weakness. i never feel like "oh wow, i feel like running."

last night i did 50 mins of an exercise dvd! so excited about that! i also brought in my push up bars. i do pushups at my desk and get tired of using so much hand sanitizer. from now on i want to be active through out the day, not just when it is time for me to workout. i jogged from the parking lot to the entrance of my work building this morning (not enough to be drenched in sweat, but enough to get the heart pumpin’). and walked fast to my office. so that is a start. gotta keep it movin’!

I day down…4 more to go!… and measurements.

I made it to the gym yesterday. Had issues with getting my gym bag. Anyway, I did the following:

Seated Row 2×8 @ 60#; 3×12 @ 55# (felt like i could lift more; did not want to do too much too soon)

Lat Pulldown 2×8 @ 70#; 3×12 @ 65#

Roman Chair (back extension) 2×8 @ 25#; 3×12 (body wt) - really felt this!

Dumbell Curls (seated) 2×8 @ 20#; 3×12 @ 15#

Shoulder Press 2×8 @ 20#; 3×12 @ 15 - this was a serious challenge; had to pause a few times

then last night before i went to bed i did 2 supersets of 25 reps of crunches/oblique crunches. hooray for me! i followed through what i said i would do!

yesterday’s meals looked like this:

goji berries, oatmeal with muscle milk and goji berries with cherries and raisins, yogurt covered raisins and sunflower seeds, ramen japanese noodles - a waste of calories, bk big fish sandwhich and med fries, slice of sweet potato pie.

that was actually an ok day considering i left my food in the car. snacking is getting me. i have had a few tootsie roll candies today so far and i may have a couple more. maybe not. anyway, did my measurements. hope i did it right:

waist - 30.75 (smallest part), 33.5 (around navel and love handles)

chest - 35

Rt  Bicep - 13 (flexed), 12 (not flexed)

Lt Bicep - 13.5 (flexed), 12.5 (not flexed)

Hips - 40.5

Rt Thigh - 23

Lt Thigh - 22.5

Rt Calf - 14.5 (flexed and not)

Lt Calf - 14.75 (flexed and not)

Shoulders - 44.5

so there are some ups and downs that i do not like. gotta change that.

today is quads and hams. i will probably do some cardio too. totally need some cardio!

Thanksgiving

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I tried posting a message while i was out of town and i kept losing my signal for my laptop. i did ok. nothing to really be proud of. i did not get to work out, had to keep kids in line and in my sight. i am ready to get some things done today. today is back, bis and shoulders. i was sick last week and could not do it like i wanted so hopefully i am able to do all that i plan to do. eating today has been ok. too many carbs. i forgot my meals in my truck and it is too far to walk to once i am already in the building. so i ate what was left at my desk. i did have oatmeal with muscle milk and goji berries and i just finished up about 25 minutes ago, some ramen noodles. and i am having a horrible hair day. it is a mess. i gotta do something to it tonight. glad thanksgiving is over. i will be home for christmas. getting my menu together. i will not cook too much food except for the veggies. i will be ready. i keep saying that i am going to do it… but i am doing my measurements today before i work out. i don’t think it is going to look good, but i am going to do it.

my goal this week is to make it to the gym/workout for 5 days!
