Yeeaaah!

Yesterday i tow’ up dem weights! Wooh!

leg extensions 2×8 @ 130#; 3×12 @ 70# (75#may have been better)

lunges 2×10 w/10 dbs(dumbells); 3×15 w/o wts

seated leg curls 2×8 @ 100#; 3×12 @ 70# (75#may have been better)

supersets: side lung and db press 1×10 w/10#dbs; 3×12 w/10#dbs  

10 min run 1.1 miles w/1.5 incline and burned 139 cals w/cool dwn

yay for me! i pushed through and got it done yesterday. i changed things up a bit also. with 2 heavy sets at the beginning and then 3 sets of 12 - 15 reps to burn it out. not sure what will come of that. but i am hoping to see some real results and cut the travel and prep time between machines and taking off heavy wts that some one left on the machine. i will also be doing 2 different exercises per muscle grp. my legs are sore, but i know tomorrow will feel much worse than today. and i am looking forward to the pain. today is chest tris and abs! looking forward to it. i need to come up with a plan to work out in case i am unable to get to the gym while i am out of town.

Bad work out

Monday, November 24th, 2008

on the 21st i did go to the gym. and it was horrible! my head was hurting soooo bad. i tried to work through it, but the throbbing got the best of me and that was after 800mg of motrin. i did 3 sets of 2 leg exercises and had to call it a day. i went in the ladies locker room and laid my head in my lap on a towel… that still hurt, but eventually i dosed off. i am ready to work out today, but again i have a headache. i am thinking maybe it is stress and my BEST FRIEND (monthly) is coming in town. actually, she should have been here by now. anyway, i pray that i feel better before i go to the gym. i am planning to go at about 10am. i am excited about working out. i have been looking forward to it all weekend long. it is a stress reliever. my goal this week is to work out 5 days. and i can do that. uhoh. i just remembered that thanksgiving is this week and i am going out of town! that is ok. there is a base near where i am going and i will be there! i have already had my share of holiday food. i tasted everything, but did not get full. so that is a plus. with my fam, i really would like to focus on the reason we are celebrating these holidays. not just making a bunch of food and eating til we can’t eat anymore and ain’t one soul said nothing they were thankful for. and don’t let me get started on Christmas and Easter. anyway, i will get off my soap box.

Update:

I did good on my pt test a couple of days ago. the windchill was 18! yesterday i did abs, calves and shoulders. calves are really hurting today. so are my abs and shoulders. i did not have a lot of time but i got it done. today i will be doing legs and glutes. not sure what exercises i will be doing. i really really do not feel like going to the gym today. i am tired and just not in a good mood. that is probably all the more reason for me to go to the gym.

Tired of Eating?

WOW! After yesterday, I was so tired of eating EVERY 2 hours. But i did it. I also went to the grocery store. And when i got home and fed the kids and put the groceries away, i indulged in something sweet and then something salty. today i am going to try every 3 hours and see how it feels. i can hardly wait til thursday, so i can work out. actually, i am looking forward to tomorrow because although it is a test, it is still a work out. i may also do a little something later on tomorrow evening as well. g/g

Hot Chocolate

Monday, November 17th, 2008

It is truly cold in my office today and i am a bit tired but i have adjusted my meals to be more simple and easy to make with very little variation. And that is ok for me. hot chocolate is not in my list of things to eat/drink today, but i did not want to drink warm/hot water.  : )  I have my pt test on wednesday (2mins of push ups and 2mins of situps and 2 mile run) so i have really been taking it easy, not to mention that i have not really felt like doing much lately. My plan was to go to the gym at 0930 this morning, but of course the mission comes first, so i had to work instead. that is ok. i was only going to walk for 30 minutes and stretch but maybe that would have been too much. so this evening i will stretch good… really good and continue to eat well and drink water. i can not wait until i am done with pt tests! it is going to be cold outside, too. i do have a plan for the rest of the week and saturday and sunday will be my "active rest" days. i am always changing my plan/schedule. as you can see, that is something that i like to do. but i GOTTA FOCUS and FOLLOW my plan/schedule. i am going to post my measurements from like august time frame and then post my current measurements. hopefully i have improved. but right now i would actually settle for just not having greater measurements than before in certain areas. LOL! i know i have not put my all into getting in shape over that past month. and that sucks. i start off well, and then i fade as life begins to happen and things around me tends to change up. i also noticed that i have been giving myself these crazy deadlines to reach a certain weigh goal. i should just focus on the activity of working out regularly/intensely, eating clean, and getting rest. FOCUS on the activity! i really enjoy reading about the success that people share on bodyspace. it keeps me going. it also helps me to realize that i am not the only one with the challenges that i face. i am greatful for all the input and tips. i am glad to be a part of this fam! gotta go.

Update

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Ok. I have been consistent with the gym and doing well with caloric intake… until the weekend rolls around. i did not work out this past weekend but i made sure i hit everything that i missed b/t friday and sunday. it was a good workout. now i am dog tired! i have eaten too much, i think. because i am tired i just want to keep eating. which only helps for a hot second and then i hit rock bottom. anyway, i lost .2 lbs last month. that really sucks. and i will take some pics i guess tomorrow with measurements. i do feel like i am getting stronger with my workouts. i do normally 3 sets of whatever that burns at 12 reps and then i do a HEAVY set of 5, 8, or10 reps while adding about 20lbs to it. it feels good! i am working past the burn. yet i see no results yet. i know they are coming.  i am going on a women’s retreat with my church and it is definitely needed. i plan to workout while i am there. i will work out extra hard since i will have the time. it is going to be great! i will keep ya posted…

guess who voted today?!! ME!  whenever i voted in the past it has been an absentee ballot, so it was just awesome to vote in person. i know people were just looking at me like why is she smilin’ so hard! i was excited! so if you are reading my blog and you have not voted yet… You are WRONG!
