I did not realize how tasking it can be to just write a post. I have been putting it off and putting it off because I felt that I had so much to say. But maybe i should just keep them short. I did chest and tris on last friday and my tris are still in pain… and it feels great. I ran 3 miles this morning with a headache. I have been under the weather the past few days allergies and cold symptoms. It was deep in my chest and now is coming up. But my head is pounding as we speak and it is painful to hear the keys on the keyboard. Aaahh! Anyway, I am back at 151.5 lbs and that was just from eating ok-sized portions and working out the little bit that i did. I did not over eat at all this weekend although my choices were not the greatest. so i would say that i did pretty good. I am still a work in progress. Gotta drink more water. I think also feeling under the weather, at times i just did not feel like eating. gotta go. til next time. =D

There will be some great progress in October!

Hello again

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Well, since my last post I have lost many a battle with eating and working out. Had an awesome workout today. I did chest and tris, which will actually be my monday workout with abs and cardio… 4 miles! not sure about the mileage, but i will try my best. i tried kicking the hydroxycut to the curb, but i feel like my workouts are better and i can actually make it to them. i will use it for a little while (2-3 weeks) maybe and then take a break for a week or 2 and start again. right now i need a little help on this journey. my "trainer" is great. he is working on a meal plan for me and my partner. time is kind of limited with him because of the job he has but that is ok… it is FREE! the next time we meet we will go over the exercises for wednesdays.

eating today was ok. i did not over indulge in anything! yay! i had a piece of chicken from popeyes and felt like "wow this is a lot of chicken". i had a small brownie for dessert that i could not finish and water. i pushed away when i felt satisfied. it is now 1am and i had a few green grapes. i know it is late. but i really want to post some kind of a blog everyday or every other day. to be held accountable. anyway, gotta go! i need some ideas on side dishes (veggies) to cook for my family. Any tips would be great! I think they are totally over green beans and corn. LOL! i am sure they are not laughing.

I will take some personal pics around the 15th of Oct and do my measurements again. There WILL be PROGRESS!

The Big Fight - tough cookie

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I dropped the twins off at daycare this morning and when I got back in the car, I saw that one of the cookies that I had given them was in the little cubby whole near the cup holders. I picked up the cookie…and it was ON! I reached back to put it in the cookie bag, then I brought it towards my lips. Then I shook my head and said no. And reached to put the cookie away. This went on for about a good minute and a half. And at the end, I said NO! I am not exaggeratin at all. it was a throw down knock out fight. It was just a cookie but to me it was so much more. I had started this week well with great habits and thoughts and i was not really hungry and did not need it… i just wanted it because I saw it. So yes, "I WON!"

Anyway, I ran 3 miles outside today! Finally! I had been dreading it and putting it off for the longest time. This time I am going to stick with it. I finished in 29:57:97. Barely under 30 minutes. Then I finished up with a quick ab workout:

crunches and oblique crunches (superset) 3×15

abdominal crunch machine 3×15 @ 50#

reverse crunch (on a weight bench) 3×15

I really felt the burn today. And it felt great! As for eating, this morning I started out with just liquids (water and 100%juice) then at about 0830 i had some trail mix (very little). 1045 I finished the trail mix with a few dried cherries and drank water. Went to the gym at 1230. 1400 I had a Eating Right cup of noodles (130cals and 600mg sodium). I put some broccoli and carrots in it a tsp of liquid aminos for flavor and 1 1/2 cups of watermelon. Now I am drinking water. I don’t think I was hydrated enough for the run I had today. But I will be ready on Wednesday. Feeling good, but tired. G/G

What happened?!

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

I had a good workout yesterday and I ate pretty good through out the day. But once I got home. I had 2 grilled ham and cheese sandwhiches and a 6inch tuna sub from subway. And I did not feel disgustingly full. I felt satisfied. But when I think about it now, i feel guilty. Cause that is a lot of food. Especially to end the day with. How in the world am I going to conquer this eating right thing?! G/G =D

Feelin Good

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Yet another day in this life of eating right and working out regularly. So far today I have eaten:

0730 - 1/2 cup oatmeal (dry) w/ 1tsp honey, cinnamon, applesauce (no water) and fresh blueberries - I only ate half of this; it was or seemed like a lot once I mixed it all.

0935 - 1/2 Muscle Milk shake (love banana creme) and 2 multivitamins (pre-workoutmeal)

1130 - finished MM shake

1200 - finished oatmeal and very small piece of a cold cut sandwhich (maybe an inch long… tiny)

1320 - crackers (200cals) - i was not really hungry, but I wanted to eat something. i will drink water the next time i feel that way or chew gum or something.

Now yesterday was not totally bad. I had good meals and good portion control until the late afternoon and evening. 2 small bags of chips, not at the same time. cookie from subway and 6inch tuna sub. This stuff was between 2 and 10. I have to make sure that I do not eat too late. I think I should probably eat before my family and put away the food right after I make their plates. That way i will spend less time in the kitchen and not be tempted to keep eating… and the lights will go off when I am done. I did my workout this morning at about 1000hrs:

benchpress 3×15 @ 15lbs

close grip push up 3×15

assisted pull up 3×15 @100lbs; this was a hard exercise - I will get better

seated row 3×15 @ 45lbs

alternating shoulder press 3×15 @ 10lbs

ball crunch 3×15

ab machine 3×15 @ 50lbs

yesterday I only did 25 minutes of running on the treadmill at 5.5 and stretched really good.

On the right track

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Yesterday I ate…

0740 - 1packet of instant oatmeal w/ 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries

0930 - 2tbsp sunflower seeds

1000 - 1 Jolly rancher

1145 - 1 stalk of celery (never doing that again!); fat free key lime pie yogurt; 1 egg white and 1 whole egg (boiled) =268 cals

1330 - mulitvitamin and 5 green grapes

1500 - 1545 gym (cardio)

1625 - med. banana and small fiber one muffin

b/t 1800 and 1900 - 4 small cookies

Dinner about 1930 to 2030 - 1 chili cheese dog (2% cheese; turkey chili; husband bought the buns and weiners…); 2 cups of juice

I am so proud of myself. I think I did pretty good yesterday. I have been paying attention to "WHY" I am eating or feel like eating. I push away when satisfied and not "FULL". I don’t feel deprived either. I eat the little things that I want to eat with out going over board and buck wild with the snacks. Today’s eating is going well also. I did 45 minutes of cardio yesterday on the treadmill. It was soooo boring and painful. I just wanted to quit… but I kept going. The pace was 5.5 mph and I burned about 548 calories. The pace felt a bit slow at first and I had to remember that I was going to be on this crazy thing for the next hour almost. Good thing I did not change the settings. I was under the weather on Tuesday and had serious BGs. I know I had to lose a pound or two. Last week when I got on the scale, while feeling very bloated, I weighed 155lbs! Now that really hurt. So I had to turn it up a bit and push away from the table a bit. I started out at 150 or 152. But that is ok. I am turning up the cardio and being consistent with the weights. For the time being, I am trying a 4week work out program that I saw in the October issue of Oxygen. Today is lower body weights and abs. Tomorrow I will have a morning and early evening workout. Morning is a 45 minute run outside and evening is upper body weights and abs. I will be tired. And sore. But I LOVE that feeling of soreness. A taste of success. Mmm. Anyway, gotta go for now. Til next time.
