Getting there!

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

I’ve managed to keep losing body fat and weight despite family and friend’s that keep sending me junk food.  Why are Sour Patch Kids so good!!  At least they are fat free.  I had a tough workout today; did back and shoulders for about 2 hours, then ran 1.5 miles on the t-mill and finished with some sit-ups.  Then I jogged home about .3 miles in the 115 degree heat.  That sucked.  Won’t do that again.  My kidneys and left delts all hurt when I got home.  But I am stoked that body fat keeps dropping, not too concerend about weight.  Figure that will fluctuate as I gain muscle and lose fat.  Looking forward to going home and being able to choose what I eat for lunch and dinner.

Body Fat

Monday, June 11th, 2007

I used this handle-held body fat measuring thing today, but I’m not sure how accurate it really is.  This is the second time I’ve used in 8 days and it said I lost 2.6% in that time.  Not sure if I trust that.  Although I wasn’t very happy with the first reading, last week (19.5%) either, thought it was a bit high.  It says I’m at 16.9%, which I think is about right, but besides actually doing it the old fashioned way I really have nothing to base it on.  I did lose 1.5 lbs, but not sure how that all correlates.  I guess as long as I’m using the same thing to measure, I’ll get at least an accurate picture of progress, even if the number isn’t correct.

Agility Test

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Did the Illinois agility test today.  Harder than I thought, but I also did better than I thought.  My best time was 16.69s which I got twice.  I did about 8 runs on it and my highest was 17.87s.  Although twice I forgot to weave through the cones on the way back.  Duh!

Also did 4 miles on the elipse machine in 28:20, so that wasn’t too bad.  I took it easy for the first 18 mins or so and then stepped it up.  Then I did my normal Chest routine; flat, decline, incline, butterfly’s, and sitting chest press.  A little tired when i was done.

New goals, new workout.

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Just looked at my fitness tests for a new job coming up and I am tailoring my workouts from here on out to make the best possible scores for it.  I have to have 10.5% body fat, bench 135% of my body weight, run 1 1/2 miles in 10:30, flexibility test, agility test - 16.3s in that.  So I’ve got my work cut out for me.  I have until Feb. I think to make these scores.  Can I make it? We’ll see.
