So it looks like its about time for a change of scenery for me. This snow and icy roads and crazy winds and freezing coldness is killing me already. After putting up with it for 23 years me and a friend have decided to move. Moving to Columbia, SC on January 4. Got an apartment and hoping to get into the University of South Carolina and major in Sport and Entertainment Management. Hopefully it’ll be a good experience. If the school works out I’ll be down there for about 3 years, if not 8 months minimum (since thats how long our lease is). Either way it’ll be nice to just get away from what I am used to. So anyone who reads this and happens to live in the area or know the area let me know some good places to hang out and some good places to work out.
Edit: Bunch of stuff went bad the friday before the move was supposed to happen. So, unfortunately, I am still stuck in the 0 degree weather that is Michigan’s winter. Sucks, but what can ya do, back to life as I have known it for a while.
Peace Out!! One Time!!

So last year at the beginning of November I some how managed hurting my back. Never figured out exactly what I did. All I know is for a while I couldn’t work at all, then it took a lot to move very slowly, then I had to shift around to walk comfortably, and finally after a couple months and just in time for football it was back to 100% (by Mid-April). I wish it coulda been a quicker recovery so I could have been in better shape for football, but things don’t always work out how we want them too. I had physical therapy at a therapist 3 days a week and I did a bunch of stretches at home everyday.
Turns out a week and a half ago I did it again. It felt the exact same, so I am led to believe it was the exact same thing. I got right into stretching and doing the PT I did last year, but just on my own so I didn’t have to worry about insurance and such. And this year it only took a week and a haf for my back to recover. I am so relieved it didn’t take 5-6 months like last year, I would have been incredibly pissed off. So today I got back into the weight room and it felt good to only have to take a week off (which is good to do now and then anyway).
So just be careful when you are working out, you never know when you might get injured. Use proper for and a little common sense to prevent it. I have yet to figure out how i’ve managed hurting my back since I know I was using proper form, but I guess all I can do for now is hope it doesn’t happen again.
Peace Out, One Time!!

So my football team just had our first off season team meeting for the year. I didn’t get to go since I had other things going on, but a teammate filled me in. We’ll probably have a couple more, along with some combines and minicamps before the year is over too.
The season won’t start til may, with practices beginning the last week of March or first week of April. Thought the meering turned out pretty good. Coach is coming back for at least one more season, with a new GM so he can focus more on coaching. We have at least one established defensive coach, might have 2 if he can work it out. Our player fees are going down, but we have to buy our jerseys this year. We can get our names on them though since we are buying the. Our goal is to be all business on the field, make/host/and win the league championship. And in doing that being able to find a new coach more easily if our current coach decides this is his last.
So all in all a good meeting. Got me excited for the next year. I have a renewed energy for my work outs now. I’m going to be working my butt off 6 days a week to make sure I start on defense and maybe earn a spot on the offensive line as well. I can already feel myself getting stronger (upped most of my lifts) and I am losing weight according to the scales (down 16 pounds since our last game of the 2008 season). So I am well on my way to what should be an amazing 2009 season. ONE TIME BABY!!

This is something that keeps me motivated on the field and off the field. One time to make that big hit, one time to win the game, one time to go all out, one time to get that touchdown. One Opprtunity to succeed or fail, choose to take advantage of that one time and live without regrets. Basically its a leave it all on the filed type of thing for me. No sense in living in the past. I look at a game knowing I can only do it one time because there are no time machines. It can also be off the field and as simple as going up to a girl and talking with her, or jumping at a job opportunity, or even just getting in a couple more reps if I know it will be no problem. One time with No Fear and No Regrets!!
