Day 52 of my 75 day transformation!

December 2, 2008

Day 52 of my 75 day transformation! Well it’s been a little while since I’ve posted because I have been really busy with the holidays and getting back in shape for baseball! Everything is still going very well and I like my progress. For a while I was not thinking I was changing that much until I printed off my pictures and compared them and wow could I tell the difference. If gives me that extra motivation to know I am on the right track.

So thanksgiving was this past week and I had it set in my mind that I was going to eat anything I wanted, man I was excited. So I went to my parent’s house to see all the family and spend time with them. When it was time to eat I loaded my plate up as much as I could, leaving no room! I had ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, rolls and some celery sticks! LOL I started eating and I promise I got through maybe 1/3 of the plate and I was stuffed! I could not eat anymore even if I wanted to. I was disappointed at first because I have been looking forward to thanksgiving food since I started my transformation! On the other hand I was glad that I trained my body to be used to frequent smaller meals and that’s why I could not eat a lot of food! It’s nice to know that I don’t need an entire plate of food to be satisfied. I listened to my body and I was done!

So I only have 23 days to go!!! Even though my journey will not be over I am glad that I have stuck to what I set out to do. I started tanning yesterday for my final progress pictures. I feel like it’s all coming together and I just have to make it through til Christmas. I am on the down slope and it feels good! Thanks again to anyone who reads this and is supportive. I hope I can help motivate people looking to do the same thing. Good luck with your goals and have a great holiday!

Day 34 of 75!

November 14, 2008

Its day 34 of 75! My birthday was this past weekend and I have to admit I gave myself a cheat meal, and then another cheat meal and beer on top of that. I was disappointed when it was all said and done but oh well I have to keep fighting. I just had a little more than I needed this weekend. I can’t be too mad because I noticed how guilty I felt and it encouraged me to fight harder to stay on track.

About 3 weeks ago I emailed Team Scivation about free training they were advertising on bodyspace. Well I just received my training log from them this morning. I am looking forward to starting their program because they built it around my needs and my goals. I am very thankful that there are people out there always willing to help. I am going to finish up my program though the weekend and start theirs on Monday following their program to a “T”.

Team Scivation is putting me on what they call the Carb Haters Diet (CHD). I will be putting about 1800-2000 calories a day. I will be working out 6 days a week. 4 will be strength training and 2 will be cardio days. It is similar to what I do now it’s just I’ll be working muscle groups together. They also provided a log for me to keep track of my progress in which I will be reporting back to them every Sunday. So I am excited to get started and it will be nice to have the extra help.

Thanks to everyone who reads my blog and good luck with your goals. Also I wanted to say thanks to Team Scivation for the help they are giving out to lots of people!

Day 25 0f 75! 1/3 of the way there

November 5, 2008

Well today is Day 25 of my 75 day transformation. It is exciting to keep seeing the changes in my body. I seem to have built my strength back to where it used to be. I feel solid so far. I benched on Monday and was feeling great so I decided to test my max and got up 310lbs once. Of course that set the tone for a great workout. It’s always exciting to reach something you might not think is possible.

My diet has been going great and I am very excited for my cheat meal on Sunday. My 25th birthday is on Saturday so my birthday present to me is a cheat meal. I have not yet decided what that meal is going to be but I am going to enjoy every second of it! I will make it a smaller portion just so I do not over do it. Besides that my diet has seemed to get easier because I am so set on a schedule it’s like clockwork. I’m sure as I get closer to the 75th day I will be saying something totally different.

So I am still doing my morning workouts and that does not seem to get any easier. Some days are better than others. I am used to getting up I am just not used to being so tired. It takes a while to get myself moving. That’s when No-Xplode comes in handy! Oh well that’s the sacrifice I have to make to reach my goals.

All in all I am happy with how things are going and I am taking one day at a time. Thanks to everyone who reads this and for the support. Good luck with your goals!!!

Day 11 of 75!

October 22, 2008

Well I am at Day 11 and everything seems to be going good. I have not had any setbacks yet. I bought some more supplements over the weekend and I was excited to try them. I picked up BSN No-Xplode, Athletic Edge InterXCell and Controlled Labs Orange Triad. I have used No-Xplode before and I love it. It gets me up and moving in the morning. The protein (Body Fortress Cookies & Crème) I have tastes horrible so I am going to try a different flavor when I restock.

I finally uploaded my pictures and posted them today so I can keep track. I am putting up Day 1 and Day 9 and you can already see a difference (although it’s little). I have gone from 194lbs to 187lbs this morning. I know most of it is water weight but it’s still encouraging. Its one day at a time. I have been telling people around my office about my transformation idea and I have been getting good responses. Everyone is anxious to see how I do. So that is more motivating because I don’t want people to see me fail. Hopefully I can help some of them get into better shape. Who knows?

I wanted to include a sample of my diet for everyone to see. Here is what I ate yesterday:

Morning Run & Workout

Meal 1: Oatmeal with Protein Shake

Meal 2: Banana with peanut butter

Meal 3: Salad with 6 oz. Chicken Breast

Meal 4: Protein Shake

Meal 5: 8oz. Steak with side salad

Meal 6: Protein mixed with yogurt

I am open for suggestions if I am way off with my diet or with the timing of what I am eating. Thanks again to everyone who reads this blog and I hope you reach your goals!!!

Day 6 of 75!

October 17, 2008

Well its day 6 of my 75 day transformation. Everything is going good so far. I am still getting used to eating every 3 hours. I think the smaller portions of food will be harder to get used to then anything else. I have been hungry around 8-9pm every night but I am told that will pass. It’s nice getting back into a rhythm again. I have to tell myself that it’s going to take a while to get the results I want.

I am not a morning person at all so when I wake up a 5 every morning I want to throw my alarm clock threw the wall! LOL Its fine once you get out of bed but it’s getting the motivation to get up that’s hard. Starting this new workout plan gets me moving in the morning because I am so excited.  I want to workout 24 hours a day but I know you have to rest for your muscles to grow. It’s easy to get excited to workout when you first start because it’s new and you want to change. I will really see how good my willpower and determination are after a couple of weeks to a month when my diet sets in and it is not new anymore but I am up for the challenge. I did not get a chance to post my pictures on here yet but I will do that over the weekend so everyone can see my before picture and my 1st progress pic!

I just want to thank everyone who has read my fist post and gave me words of encouragement. That was great to hear and thanks to everyone who will be reading this for the first time! I will be posting again on Monday to say how my weekend went and talk more about my workouts and diet plan. Day 6 and 69 more days to go!

75 day tranformation!

October 14, 2008

75 day transformation! I woke up one morning last week and I was finally tired of my inconsistent workout and diet regimen. I will be hardcore and make sure I am eating right and going to the gym 6 days a week and then I will get thrown off one week and not able to recover. I’m sure a lot of people have the same problem. I am ready to do something about it so I decided to do a 75 day transformation where I eat right and work my butt off to get the results I want. This is a lifestyle change and unless I treat it like that I will never get where I want to be.

I started on Sunday October 12th. 75 days will take me to Christmas. I chose Christmas because that is one of the best times for me. I love everything about it, the celebration with family, the lights and everyone seems to forget their problems and have a good time. Also I figure if I can show my entire family the results I achieved through hard work and dedication it might inspire them to get their diet in order and become healthier. If what I am doing for me can help inspire just one person then that would be great but that’s not why I am doing it. I want to do it for my health and well being.

I also told everyone I know my plans for change. I figure my friends and family can help me and also it help to hold myself accountable. I don’t want to be the person to tell everyone that I quit. So this is my plan. I am going to take a picture of myself everyday for the next 75 days so people can see the changes that my body makes every day.  It will be nice to see my pictures from day 1 to day 75. I am going to post my blog two days a week, one blog at the beginning of the week and one at the end. This will be the time to update my progress and maybe to vent that I am hungry or post the changes I need to make so on, and so on. I am also going to post a picture once a week so people can see my changes.

Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone who is striving towards their goals!!!

A little about my self…

August 24, 2007

Hi my name is Drew Thomas. I am 23 years old and from Columbus, Ohio (Home of the Arnold Classic). I am a calculator/ auditor at S.E.R.S. (School Employees Retirement System) and I am currently going to school as an undecided major. I am into going out with friends, then again who isn’t. I enjoy the movies and having cookouts with family. Right now I am enjoying playing men’s competitive softball with friends I grew up with. I have always been into sports and am willing to give any sport a try. During my high school career I played football (QB, WR, RB, S, FS and K), Golf, Basketball (Guard) and Baseball (P and CF). I was an All-State baseball player and from there I attended The Ohio State University. I played baseball for the buckeyes as an outfielder.

I first got into lifting when I attended college but I did it mainly because I had to. I wasn’t really into it; all I thought about was baseball and didn’t know the importance of lifting at the time. I just started getting into bodybuilding early this year and I have to say it is very addictive. I love seeing my body going through the changes. Seeing your body change is a big motivator. I am still learning the sport and as I continue to read more and more articles I have realized that there is a ton of info. I have taken some advice from friends about their workout routines and I have started a routine which I have changed to fit my needs. I have to say I love that there are always things to learn and I like going through the ups and downs of finding out what works best for me. It’s all part of the journey and I think it is a character builder. I have to admit that I have always seen bodybuilders walking around and I have said to myself I would love to look like that one day but I had no idea the hard work and dedication you have to put into the sport to be successful. So I have to say I have a huge amount of respect for bodybuilders. I just wanted to make my first blog a little bit about myself and explain in short detail why I started lifting in the first place. Thanks for reading!

In my next blog I plan on talking about my experiences on my first supplement stack. I am currently taking BSN No-Xplode, Cellmass, and Axis-HT. I also take ON Whey Protein and a GNC multivitamin.  I hope to include progress pictures.

Welcome!
