Day 6 of Breathing Squat Routine

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

So, as the title says, it’s day 6 of my routine I started.  (Check previous log.)  Needless to say, so far I’m pretty happy… MInus the knee joint pain I have to go through during the workout lol.

Today my numbers were as follows…

Breathing Squats: 360lbs x 20reps

RDL’s: 360lbs x 15 reps

Perfect Bent Over Breathing Rows: 195×15

Standing BB Shldr Press: 175×10 for 2 sets

Decline BB Bench: 345×8 for 2 sets

Those are the big exercises… other than that I did crossover cable rear delt pulls, calf stuff, minor abdominal work, and some arm burnouts / pulldowns.

If you compare the numbers, my numbers are going up pretty well compared to day one!  I’ve noticed a lot of strength gain thus far , and I’ve gained a net gain of ROUGHLY 5 pounds in the first 1.5-2 weeks of the new routine / diet.  Which, is very good for me considering the condition I’m already in.  Keep reading!  I’ll have updates again.

Day 1: Breathing Squat routine / milk / new supp regiment

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Here’s a look at my pre/during workout, diet is way too complicated to include that.

Workout -75min: 3 capsules Alpha GPC

-45: 2 FINi-bars

-30: 2 scoops Surge Workout Fuel

-15: Green Magnitude

During/after: 1.5 scoops Surge recovery fuel

New workout requires drinking 1 gallon of milk a day on top of the routine, which is 3 days a week for 6 weeks.

Growth Hormone/Test booster portion of workout:

1. Breathing Squats: 335lbs @ 20 reps

-Barbell flat bench overhead raises 20 breathing reps

2. RDL’s: 335lbs @ 15 reps

-Barbell flat bench overhead raises 20 breathing reps
3. Full bent over rows: 185lbs @ 15 reps

-Barbell flat bench overhead raises 20 breathing reps

4. Another set of rows.. 10 reps

Rest of full body workout:

Flat Bench: 275 @ 9 reps for 2 sets

Front Squat: (body was rocked by now) 225 x 6

Standing Shoulder Press: 135 x 10

Ended with calf stuff and rear delt / other back exercises with burnouts on hammy and quad machines.  Didn’t do arms because I did them the yesterday before I knew I’d be doing this workout.

I do this workout and slightly change up the second half of it every day.  Supposed to increase the weight of each of the first half exercises by 5lbs per day I do the workout.  Wish me luck!

Day 1 of new diet / supp regiment

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

So, yesterday was day 1 of my new stack and diet.  I did legs on day 1 to properly introduce the new stuff to my body ;)   Quads / calves obviously being the hardest workout I put my body through during the week.  I was pretty impressed with my numbers and endurance felt very good during the workout.

-Warmed up

-Breathing Squats** : 315 lbs for 20 reps.  (could have done at least 3-5 more reps before legs started to fail)
-Sled Squats: 950lbs for 8 reps without help.

-Front Squats 225lbs for 10 reps ( easy, was just burning out)

-Smith Machine Squats 100lbs for 25 reps with rest at bottom of each rep, butt touching ground.

Also did calf stuff in between each set.

** Breathing Squats are a technique used to boost test levels since it taxes your entire body and cardio/neverous system.  In short, you take 3 breaths full DEEP breaths between each rep and  go down for the next rep after you take in the 3rd breath.  You are supposed to do your 10 rep max for starting weight then go up each week.  **

Today is my day off, and tomorrow will be chest/abs.  I’m looking forward to seeing how the pump and str numbers go up on chest.  Update pics coming soon once I find my camera =D

Learning more every day

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Well, BB.com personnel; it’s been a longgggg time since I last updated my site…  I haven’t had a lot of time to spend on the site.  I have, however, been lifting still and am starting a new nutrition protocol for peri/during/post workout.  The new diet also includes a newer theory of protein pulsing to stimulate insulin levels to help promote nutrient uptake.

Like I said, I start all of this tomorrow and HOPE to have before pictures up by the end of this week.  I will then continue to let everyone know about my progress and give more information on exactly what I’m doing over the next month or two.

Thanks for those who intend to follow ;)

End of the line

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

I’ve been having a lot of set back’s lately… I got my wisdom teeth out this last friday and the recovery is taking longer than I initially thought it would.  With spring break coming up, I’m going to be out of town.  So I’ll end up getting a full two week break off of lifting.

HOWEVER, as I slowly start eating back to my normal rate, I have a load of supplements waiting for me once I get into lifting again..  I have 2 months worth of all of the following, can’t wait to take.

-NO Black Powder (by MRI)

-M-Stak (by Animal)

- Nitro Core 24 (ON)

I’ve had nitro core a lot lately.  It’ll be nice to have protein to down again.  I’m trying to stay natural so I can start doing competitions once I hit my 240lb + goal at my current BF (which is about 8% give or take 1%)

I look forward to keeping daily logs after next week to keep everyone updated!

Constant obstacles…

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Seems like the person who wants to work the hardest always gets shafted… I took a little break off of lifting to help joints recover and to keep my body guessing… Well, of course the day before I start lifting, I get sick.  I say, hey it’s some cold virus, I’ll just push through it.  So I take it easy the first 3 days of lifting… But I get a lot more sick after the 3rd day.

Now I’ve taken over 5 weeks off of some body parts and I’m getting anxious to get back into the gym.  Every time I try to better myself, something pushes me back.  I can’t wait til I can get back into the gym :(   I’m hoping I feel good enough to go tomorrow.

New beginnings

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

It just happens that my first day back in the gym in a month falls on the day before new years!  I took a month off to help my joints and body recover from a very long time of hard workouts.  I started back up with arms today since I am a bit under the weather (thanks dad…) and cut the sets from 12 to 8 working sets.

The Good: I did 8 sets with almost the exact same weight and reps as I did one whole month ago.

The Bad: Unfortunately after 8 sets I couldn’t do a cooldown at all because I felt like I was going to puke.  I think I will lower my initial starting dose of Nitric oxide/ caffeine since I haven’t been on either for a month.

Overall: My first workout was great all things considered…

Side notes:  I started a completely clean diet today.  I am attemtping to clean bulk for the next couple of months in hopes that I can get my bodyfat down to 5% or so while gaining some muscle.  I will be elminating almost all sugars from my diet as I will be fats… Most of my meats will now be low/no fat meats and carbs are all from oatmeal/whole grain rice/high protein whole grain bread.  No sugars… no diet pop.. NOTHING.  Just water and milk for liquids.  And the occasional protein shake of course :)

I will be posting update pictures one month from today.  Check back soon

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Going insane

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

So I am not even 2 weeks into my break from lifting to help my joints and body recovery and I’m having serious withdraw symptoms.  I feel like my body is getting slouchy and fat even though I cut calories in half to accommodate the lack of lifting.  And I am even doing minor light workouts every 2-3 days.

Can’t wait to get back into the gym after the end of December…

Cutting?

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

*Read last blog too to get full understanding*

Since I’m not lifting hard for the next month or so, I’ve decided to cut my calories down a substancial amount and eat a lot cleaner than when I bulk.  I also am doing high rep, no rest, circuit training 3 days a week just to keep in the gym and keep my muscles doing something while my joints recover the next couple of weeks.  I’m hoping to cut a little bit and get a bit leaner while I do it.  It usually doesn’t take long for me to lean out so it should be fun!

Hope everyone is keeping warm in this cold winter.  (At least here in Iowa it is.)

Sad day

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I went in to do quads/calves today and warmed up and everything… Went into my first set of squats and my knees starting killing me.  They’ve been hurting a bit at home lately just walking around but I figured it was nothing.  I started up Glucosamine/Chondroiton pills about 2 weeks ago to try and help.
Also, 2 days ago when I did chest; my right rotator was giving out again.

LASTLY, I stopped taking my kre-alkalyne creatine and my pre-workout NO products a few days ago.  I decided to cycle off of all of my non-basic supps for a month to let my system reload.

WITH ALL OF THIS in mind… I’ve decided to take the next 3-3.5 weeks off of any remotely heavy lifting and focus on high rep abs/calves/ circuit (LIGHT) training just to help my body recover.  I was planning on taking 2 weeks off within the next week or 2 anyway.

Hopefully all of this will help my body recover from all the stress that’s been put on it and I can go back into it on supplements again after / at the end of Christmas break.
