5×5 Day 2

Did my second day of 5×5 routine today… The more I think about it, the less I want to do it… Idk if it’s the Purple Wraath and White Flood, or just the routine, but I have TONS of energy after my workout today and it just felt like it was too light and didn’t work me hard at all… Maybe I didn’t start the weight high enough.  The second thing I DONT like is the fact that it ignores assisted movements and bodyparts.  I know it’s working with primary movements to build overall mass, but at some point, the assisting movers are going to start to become unsymmetrical (if that’s a word.)

SO……. I’ve decided to take one off day and go back into an 8-10 rep scheme / isolating body part routine… I am, however, going to use acclimation sets and do ONLY the last set of each exercise I’m doing to failure… that way I don’t overtrain, but I still tear the muscle accordingly.  I will be starting all of this on Thursday!  Keep reading back :)

On a good note for the day… I shrugged  430lbs 8 times with perfect form.  Woot!

Keep training hard!

Geez, shrugging 430 lbs?? they go that high? LOL. I think my calves and traps get mass naturally, just like my belly does.

I think the word you were searching for is "asymmetrical" meaning not-symmetrical.

I agree with you that it’s important not to ignore the secondary or helper muscles or it seems like they can be injured easily if they’re not proportionately strong enough to support the primary muscle activity.

Enjoy your day off, I’m taking a slow day today as well today. I’ll put stuff in my blog about yesterday.

I think I might win the comp. since you are taking off so many days. And good luck finding a someone to take new pics, that’s going to be an awkward conversation, lmao… "ummm…can you take a picture of me without my shirt on"

I think the higher reps is what you need to get burned out and a good pump. Trust me ;)
