Ranting
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008My son, who’s 11, saw me browsing BodySpace, and noticed I wasn’t on the Most Viewed profiles.
"You’re not on the Most Viewed list, dad?"
"No, mijo. That’s not what I’m here for."
"What are you here for, then?"
"To learn."
And I am. I’m here to learn how my fellow human beings, who love fitness and bodybuilding, torture themselves into being their best. At the same time, I’m learning how torturing myself into fitness makes me stronger, makes my head clear, and helps me be me.
No, I’m not looking to get on the Most Viewed list. My style of "bodybuilding" isn’t for everyone, and that’s fine. But I do get inspiration from seeing the results of others and what they’ve done. I’ve even gone the way of eating more tuna, chicken, and lean meat, and still eating like a diabetic (since my wife is type 2, and eating like that has helped me drop 50lbs).
I just do "me", and it works. I don’t care about things like Most Viewed. Like everyone else, I’m just doing the best for me.
