Another Blog!

In todays Internet world the last thing we need is another blogger right? Well I agree however not to many people blog about bodybuilding and supplements. So I decided to take it up I have had many years in the supplement industry I started working for a franchise GNC at the age of 15 yup thats right and not only was I 15 and skinny I was also the best sales person there. Thats strange isn’t it? I mean how many of us dread walking into GNC and having some skinny dude tell you what works? I sure do, and what I really hate is how they sell you hyped up supplements for their commission. It’s a dirty reality but hey thats why sites like bodybuilding.com are so popular.
Lets get back to me being 15 and working at GNC, I studied day and night on supplements more so than school projects. I loved my job I also loved supplements and the bodybuilding world. What I did was learned from the big dudes that came in and I took their advice as well. I ended up gaining some muscle and lots of intriguing knowledge out of from them.
At the age of 18 I got into working for the corporate stores. I made some fast easy money selling all their commission products, but I was honest to people. I didn’t sell then crap if I could make 8 bucks selling them a crappy supplement or nothing by selling a quality one I took the loss and sold them the good one.
Unfortunately I had a falling out with GNC and was blacklisted and unable to ever work for them again. So I took some time away from the supplement world and got into other things. Then I got a membership at a gym in my old neighborhood, then of course started going back to GNC to get better results from my workouts I was surprised at how much things changed.
It as the year 2000 and the major sellers were andro and ephedra based fat burners. It was a great time indeed I was ripped to the bone and also looking pumped, this was also pre NO2 era too. I was training with a guy named Big Don who was the gym guru. He was hard headed and not hesitant to tell you what he thought, but the guy new some good ****. I never had a ****ty workout with him and he helped me with confidence issues too. He always said “enjoy the mirror” and “slow is huge” I learned about tempo with reps and how to take it to absolute failure.
I cannot give all the credit to him it was my Dad who first showed me everything, and how to train to failure. My bonding with my Dad grew immensely due to weight lifting. We had lots of grueling workouts togeather in the basement.
I got very into the sport of bodybuilding and in the year 2002 I met a guy named Dave Lieberman who was in charge of bodybuilding shows in northeast Ohio and also a Mr. Universe. Dave still has an incredible physique and is a personal trainer at Titans Gym in Mentor Ohio.
I got certified through ISSA as a personal trainer in the summer of 2003 however I got easily discouraged with my choices of either competing with Dave, or working for a chain like Fitworks or Ballys total fitness. I ended up just having two low key clients who I trained for about a year.
I no longer live in northeast Ohio but whenever I visit my family I workout at Titans Gym and say hi to Dave if I see him. Training is more than a hobby for me its my life and everything in my life has stemmed from it.
