Back on the bike…

Monday, May 11th, 2009

So once again, I finished my Navy PRT and am dissapointed but not suprised with my results. I’ve fallen back into the 3 mile a year club. I would love to blame it on a million of different things, but bottom line is I’m just not doing anything about it.

While killing sometime and doing a little supplement research, sparked up by a patient taking "15 different supplements because that is what he took in high school while he played football and it seemed to work" I came back across this site. I have it booked marked at home along with a couple workout sites…but I don’t think I’ve actually looked at them in months.

I really want to start working out again and start getting back into shape…again. Round is a shape, but not the one I want to be at. I’m looking for motivation and it seems kind of hard to come by. I would rather be at home with the wife and kid then at the gym, but I need to do something to get out of my seditary life style.

I’ve been thinking about starting with doing walks after I get home or doing quick exercise routines that I can do at home or in the proximity of it. To the end of my road and back in just under 1 1/2 miles and I can do that in under 15 minutes and hardly break a sweat, but I want to get that easily under 15 number down.

I know that once I start back up that I will love it. And because of my current seditary lifestyle, once I start doing ANYTHING I’ll see the weight fly off and I’ll be as motivated as anything to keep it going. One of the few benifits of doing nothing, lol.

Hopefully this time I won’t cheat myself out of bettering myself. Hopefully this time I’ll stick with it. *fingers crossed*

Feeling great!

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

I’ve lost about 3 lbs so far. I’ve been doing crossfit for 4 weeks and already I feel amazing! I notice I have more energy, I’m in a better mood, and my clothes are fitting better. I definitely want to keep this up!

Intimidated, shy, unsure?

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Went to do yesterday’s WOD from crossfit. Was suppose to meet two of my friends there so we could do it together. Waited half an hour and decided I was just going to do it on my own. Went to walk into the weight room…chickened out before I even crossed the door frame. Paced around the gym for 5-10 minutes before I decided I would just do the pull-up workout outside where no one could watch.

Why did I chicken out?!?! Ugh…it’s soooo aggravating! I really was looking forward to today’s workout…but I felt unsure on the exercise sinve I’ve never done it before. Plus I didn’t want people staring at me while I was doing something different from everyone else. It’s totally different when you have a bunch of guys doing something different…it’s kinda like dancing. When everyone is doing the same move it looks cool, but when it’s just you in the club on your own then you look like you’re doing some kinda sezuire in the middle of the gym. Kinda like in that movie Can’t Buy Me Love. Where he starts doing the African tribal dance thinking it’s cool….anyways…

So I ended up cutting myself short and I’m really…errrr…about it. This has got to change. I know that no one in there cares what I’m doing in there. They are all busy trying to get there "swoll" on. I know this…I just couldn’t get it through my head. I’m going to be kicking myself for the rest of the night…blah…

A day of 45’s

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Yesterday’s workout was a day of 45’s.

  • 45 Double Under’s (jumprope)
  • 45 Clench-squats
  • 45 Dips
  • 45 Double Under’s

I chose not to do the DU so instead did 125 single jumps.  I only used 45 lbs CS, instead of the 135…but I’m working on it, lol.  Finished everything in 20:34.  It was a good workout. Intense.  Not sore today…but there is always tomorrow.  Stay tuned…

Friday Workout

Friday, June 27th, 2008

So today, I’m still sore, but it’s all good. Went to the pool in hopes to get 1000M in, but ended up only being able to do 500M due to swim lesson’s starting. Oh well. I feel good after the swim and my back is slowly getting better. Still swollen, but feeling a lot better with more ROM. Taking the weekend off and starting back up on Monday! Stay tuned…

First Workout

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

So Wed was my first workout. Went to the gym with a buddy of mine and did a crossfit work out. "Fight gone bad" incase you’re interested. First time doing any work out in…well…I can’t remember when. Anywho, today, 2 days later, I am dead. Well, my back is at least. Painful getting outta bed, bending over, and pretty much everything else. Blah!

Anywho, hopefully today I can get to the pool, swim some laps, and get some ROM back! Stay tuned…
