Lesson Learnt.

Well its the end of another week, and the more days have past and I still havent got my BB.com order. Ah well this time it was my fault. When you order international you get the choice of fedex, or normal mail. SO normal mail is good for just little packages, (which we never order) and fedex good for everything else. My last order was 100 bucks in postage which is a bit so i assumed it was fedex. Imagine my surprise when 100 bigones gets you snail mail with no idea were in the world it is, when fedex was 10 bucks cheaper, tracking number and normally only 7 or 8 days in delivery. Now I am having to bum No Explode of my training partners and am on the wifes multi’s whilst waiting for my animal packs. Maybe today.One of the crew gave me some animal packs so hopefully my package should arrive soon so i can repay my debts.

I like my training crowd, they are all serious, being or having been competitors, so there is some good banter but nothing but encouragement when it is needed, and some unbias views when needed. Try getting an unbiased critique from your wife, who thinks you were great the way you were, but is always unhappy with the way she looks. Funny when guys get leaner all the fun bits look bigger but on the ladies they look smaller. Ah well. Have a good weekend all.

Well after last monday’s weigh in I was happy with progress, another kilo down, was sitting arouond 96.6kgs. All is good.

However this week was a full on week,which resulted in the carbs being not restricted too much. A couple of nights out to dinner for farewells etc, and even though it was lean steak, and steamed veges, I just had to have a baked potato with a little bit of soour cream. Then our street has its very own golf tournament which ends up with a BBQ at my place, even though I was pretty good there, I snacked on nuts mainly. And if those two upsets werent enough it was also the wedding anniversery. We dont get festive over chrissy and birthdays, valentines etc, but planning stuff on WA is dicing with the devil on a broomstick. SO it was off to dinner again, and another baked potato.

By now i was dreading weigh in and already making excuses why there was no loss that week. Well bugger me when i jumped on the scales 2.3kg had dissapeared. Where did it go. Now sitting on 94.6 and upping the carbs this week, as well as decreasing the cardio, well the hiit stuff anyway. Thats way too much, and would definetley be some muscle in there, so I will have to slow it down a bit, still 14 weeks to go. Cant rush these things.

Back and tris plus cameo from the girls.

Well this is the last video blog i my workout series, but I think the video blog bug has got me. I think my next series will be "Cooking with the Doc".

The wife and training partner got a cameo appearance in this one. They wouldnt let me film them but its OK to film each other. Typical…………….

Weekend fishing was excellent, came third in the comp and had a ball. Only problem was our accomadation was stuffed up and even though i took all my food for the first night i had no where to cook it. Oats and protien shakes for me. Oh yeah wife destroyed my life, well maybe a dramatic but for those of you that have ever droped a mobile phone into the ocean and havent backed it up for a while, well life may as well have ended.

On the diet front, even though the food situation over the weekend was a bit dire, weigh in this morning had me at 96.9, so a kilo lost over the week, a bit leaner and still on track. Had more carbs this week and am still losing so all is good.

For todays not so exciting instalment of my video blog, it shoulders and calves. These two body parts give me the willys. Ever since I broke my collar bone, heavy overhead stuff has been out of the question, as have chins funnily enough. One side is nearly an inch shorter than the other which certainly throws the symetry out, well it would if I ever reach those scary single figure bodyfat levels.

Not training this weekend have got to fishing so tomorrows workout(back and tris) probably wont get posted until Monday, which is a shame because its one of my favorite workouts. Anyway hope those that take the time to watch this new installment, normally just my bud, goddessamazon, enjoy it anyhow.

Having a bit more luck editing this one. Bit more experience on the learn as you go windows movie maker.

Was feeling pretty crappy and fat today. I knew I was carrying a bit, and I guess i am only two weeks into diet. Still 16 to go and it probably wont bug me in a few weeks time, but you get a different perspective on yourself when its on video. Must remember to take the extra battery with we next time so i dont have to cut things short. Ah well like everything in life ‘ learn from your mistakes son".

Must thank goddessamazon for inspiring me to do these video blogs, they really make you take a good hard look at yourself and you can also analyse form function and evrything else about your work out, including how loud you are.

Well after looks of procrastination, i finally began my video blog, got permission fom the gym to tape and figure out how to use windows movie maker. Pretty easy actually. Now I am not a quentin tarrantino or some other hot shot director so the footage may be a little raw. Just a tripod handycam, and the surrounding light. Now if I can imbed it properly I will add the intro and my leg workout. Lovely, and hope you all like it.

Have finally got around to posting a couple of progress pics. Have been pretty happy with progress thus far. Its amazing how different the camera sees you to how you do. Probably need better technique. Dead set reckon why legs looked better on previous photos but they are definately leaner now.

I am also starting to get a bit of base colour as well. Just a few minutes each side for a cuple of times a week. We live in a real sunny place so I might as well take advantage of it. Love the tracking number give you for international orders from BB.com its like watching father chrissy flying to you with your presents and you always no where he is. Way cool.

Did want to imbed pic into blog but doesnt seem to be working any one have any ideas.

 

First weigh in.

Well first week sliding into precontest diet is over. I am really happy I have been doing mini cuts along the way. Start weight was 101.3kg (222.86) and after week one its 98kg (215.6). I think the real benefit of Layne Nortons mini cut regime is that every time i have cut even just for 3 or so weeks, I am leaner and heavier. This time at 98 I am leaner than last time at 96. And the shock of precomp diet is getting easier every time, the cravings are less as are the hunger pains.

Today was legs, Monday is a good day for that. Now its over and I dont have to think about it for another week. I only do legs once a week, quads and hammies together. I have never been a strong squatter, so I dont want to risk any back probs. I do go heavy with the presses and then rep out with hacks and extensions. I have always done quads first but am thinking I will start alternating hammies first, week about.

Need more protien powder so I am off to body performance gear for some Optimum Whey. Its a shame our customs dont let us bring it in from the states. BB.com price is half of what we have to pay for it here. But its the best seller so it must be good and as we all know "it all starts with good nutrition"

Lagging body parts.

Well its time to start paying attention to detail and work on a few things. Its been a long time since I have trained on a weekend preferring 2 on 1 off 2 on 2 off routines or 3 days a week when i need it. But i will be competing in May (all going to plan) so i am throwing in a extra session on sunday morning for lagging body parts. I will be concentrating on calves and shoulders/traps for a couple of weeks. Dont get me wrong i dont do a full folow up routine, during the week i will bomb delts with heavy presses, shrugs and the like and on sunday do higher rep lateral, front, and rear raises, with some drop sets and some higher rep upright rows or something. More just pumping in the blood. Same thing goes for calves.

I am fighting the urge to jump on the scales daily. I will only weigh myself on Monday mornings and then adjust my diet weekly, to give it some time to adjust. But the weight belt has come down another notch and i am noticing a little more vascularity so its all looking good at the moment. Only 15 weeks to go.
