A workout change

Today i went for a workout with my best mate. She is a member of another gym and got me a free pass so we could train together and i could help her out a bit seeing as her old training partner (her brother) has moved. Well first of all we trained early in the morning after i had had only one meal, which was a shock to the system. I dont know how people do it, adaptation i guess. And you feel really out of place getting used to new benches of different heights, and different grips, and weight sizes, this gyms big plates were 22.5kg, instead of 20kg, making my bench 15kgs (33 pounds heavier than i expected), look closer dude, and the racks were a little lower. But enough bitching i dealt with it.

The best thing about the workout was training with a girl again. I used to train pre contest with female partners for many reason. Firstly i was the only one with the testosterone and it is easier to leave your ego at the door when you train with a girl. Secondly they tend to be a bit more honest and tell you how it is, they are already great friends and arent trying to make an impression on you so they tell it how it is. And guys training together tend to stroke each others…egos kiddies egos. And in most (not all) cases they simply dont have the strength. How many times  does your spotter say its all you dude, and there is sweat dripping of his forehead because he is trying to upright row 300. Ah funny as, well i know i am being spotted but i know i have to do it myself, or at least most of it. Doing dips is a lot more pleasant as well, i used to stck the plates on my quads, but they would fall or be unsteady, wereas you can put one plate and a female partner and it doesnt look suss in any way, and its easy for her to get off and i keep going. Same with donkey calf raises.

But i didnt really like her gym so will be back to my own. I wish i could find a good female training partner again, the missus also goes to another gym, but we will be training together for the next four weeks, we are heading to South Africa to see her family. Oh yeah how was this, in a gym in a suburb of Perth, Australia, i was not the only person wearing a BB.com T-shirt, truly a global presence.

WHAT A STRUGGLE

Just got finished reading a few blogs, and can empathize with a few chaps who have just come of diets and are feeling the strength pinch. Its funny how our minds feel good once we finish with a restricted diet but our body takes longer to kick back in. Its been a week and a half since i finished my mini cut and even though my energy levels are way higher the muscle just isnt willing. One thing i did notice is that my workouts seem to finish quicker, so i am doing the same work load but more intensely and maybe need a little more time between sets. Could be reaching into the realms of overtraining as well, each time i watch the new Layne Norton vids it seems to spur me on somewhat.

I hope layne and Nic havent clashed in any way, seems Nic is a bit absent in that latest episode (#7) except when Layne said something about not being able to put much size on, and there was a quick flash of Nic. Maybe i am reading too much into that, but both guys being natural are an inspiration anyway. Its also good to see them in less than tip top condition. Its my only gripe about a lot of profiles on BB.com. Do people think some of the pics are what they look like year round. Keep it real i reckon. I know you can look like that for a few weeks a year but what about for the rest of it. AH just ranting now. Well i am off for a round of golf that i have missed out on for a few weeks this should be fun.
