bodybuilder/figure

In natural organizations there is a fine line between bodybuilding and figure for the majority of athletes (some exceptions: Mary F, Katy H, Nancy A, Joan L etc–but never say never ). As a competitor, judge and promoter–I always say figure is just bodybuilders accessorized. But this is where the art of posing/presentation comes in. In figure you stand tall, curvatious and tight to show muscle definition/symmetry, then in bodybuilders you pose big and hard to bring out extra striations, vasularity and bulging muscle bellies to create that X an art of illusions. My love is bodybuilding but my body type is an “I” wanna be “X” (tall, lean and narrow) thru posing I create an illusion of being an X and bigger than I actually am. One day this aging athlete just may try figure before my time on stage is over.
It is great seeing a young athlete like Kori accomplish this, that’s why I encourage all women to try both. Some shows do not allow athletes to cross over but the majority of natural shows do. Congrats again to Kori and the team behind her!!!!! This is team member Kori who just competed this past weekend in an INBF show back east. Thru these photos you can see that she is a very versitile young athlete. She just won both her WNBF pro status in bodybuilding and figure. As a WNBF pro bodybuilder I am planning on my next pro show this Sept in KS and I hope to also compete in the ame portion of the show in master’s figure. Why not!!!! Now lets see if I can manage the 5″ heels?!?!?! |
