Results of Kansas City, KS WNBF Pro-internationals 9/13/08
KC was humid and wet, yes Ike’s out reached caused quite a storm on show day. Fred and Jan Rowlett run a smooth organized show. 2 stages at one time, pros on one and there amature show (NANBF golds classic) on the other. Great venue.
I was in the Pro womens bodybuilding light wt class. We were up first, I was so excited to be on stage with 3 of last years top 5 champs at Worlds. Felt like a kid at Christmas and totally star struck. I just never emagined I would ever make it this far. This is so much fun for me, it was so exciting and such a postive vibe in the air. To my surprise the judges had moved me toward the middle next to last years Worlds Champ. My heart was beating so hard, all I could think of was am I posing my best— be big, be big. I ended up placing 3rd and in the money. When I saw my score sheet I had some 2nd place votes as well. I was thrilled!!!!
I also for the heck of it, and since I am 51 and don’t know how many years I will be able to put this body on stage showing improvements and not just an old lady. So I entered a pro-qualifing Masters Figure (over 40) I was the oldest in the class. I have long legs, got to pose relaxed to not be too muscular, it was just fun. Of course my big concern was to not fall on my butt with those 4 1/2 inch heels. I can’t believe it but I won!!! I now have a pro-card in both figure and bodybuilding!! thru out the natural organization I believe I am one of only a handfull of women world wide to have pro-status in both and I have the physique to be very competitive and do well in both. Just blows my mind that at 51 I have accomplised this!!!!
My next goal is to be in the top 5 in bodybuilding at Worlds in NY this Nov 8th. Less than a month away I am working hard to come in my best, to totally enjoy the journey and have a good time with great people. I have never been to NY so we are staying a couple extra days to take in some sites. Then back home we will have a huge NO DIET party!!!!
Working out and bodybuilding must be a lifestyle you love and you must keep site why you do it. It is soooo amazing that we can continue to improve even as we age, to the age we thought when we were kids was "old as dirt"!
Never give up, magic happens even if you do not have thee perfect genetics.

Thank You, when I turned 50 it was hard, I was in a doomed mood thinking that was it for me, time to get off the stage and no more improvements, But I have proved myself wrong and finally realized age is a number. I am continuing to improve. Yes I am aging but its ok for now.

Congratulations on your victory. Hard work and dedication pays off, no matter what age.
Btw, have you ever heard of Linda Wood-Hoyte? Still body building at 62, and she looks absolutely awesome. Good job!
