How can I get more Protein
Ok everyone I need some seriouse advice. I have a hard time getting the amount of Protein I need in my diet. I know alot about nutrition and fitness but I have a hard time applyin it to me. I know that alot of the reasson I am still squishy in my stomache area is because I am not consuming enough Protein.
My body has a very hard time breaking protein down though. I have what is called IBS my doctor thinks it comes from the many years that I batteled with anorexia and was a vegetarian. I cannot eat beef at all. But even chicken, fish and proteins like that take a toll on my digestive system. Soy products also irritate my stomache.
So my question is how does one go about getting proper amounts of Protein when there body has a hard time breaking protein down and what other tricks should I try to get rid of the belly that never really firms up i loose weight and it shrinks from that but it never firms up. I need some help. Please give me some advice.

I like the whey protein, but it is made from milk whey, which probably also is not too good for you. Hmmmm, how about nuts, high in carbs, high in fats (but the good fats), if carbs is not an issue, I noticed cereals have a little more protein than you would expect. Check my profile, my website is fitday.com, I am getting a lot of protein as well, and I am always looking for ways to get more. My current issue, is that I am not getting enough carbs though.
Egg beaters! Did you try that? They don’t taste bad, just like real scrambled eggs.
I hope I helped.

i agree with detroit, even though im not an expert i know whey protein is a protein that is easily absorbed by the body!

Hmm… You might try playing around with different whey protiens. I noticed in my house we all have had to use different proteins. Ones that works for me doesn’t work for my wife or my brother. I know its not much info but I hope you can use it.

I would say egg protein sometimes it’s torerated a little better than whey in some people. I would also suggest papaya and pineapple enzymes whenever you eat protein. They help your body breakdown protein easier and absorb it better.

There are many things you can do, in general you have complete proteins, like that of meat or milk products like cheese. You can also create a complete protein by combining foods, it is not the easiest and might be hard to get all the protein you need this way, but for example if you combine rice with beans this forms a complete protein. Why this works is because every food has amino acids, this is what forms the protein, so if you are able to combine the right foods then you have a complete protein.

Does fruit bother you too? It is not a protein, but if it doesn’t bother you, mix it in your whey protein to get some solids in there. I know fruit can be acidic, and can irritate IBS.
Glad my cousin got it and not me. I doesn’t seem like this is a comfortable condition. Can it get better, or is it permanent?

IBS is permanent they have medicine you can take for the cramping but then it tears your liver and kidneys up. So there is not much you can do about it.
Fruit doesnt irritate my stomache. But the thing is it dont usually matter if I eat something with most proteins it still tears my stomache up and about 10 minutes later I am having a seriouse problem. I wont say anymore. LoL
