BB buddies are a real help
Its a real help to have friends on this website who take an interest in my training - It gives me added incentive to get to the gym and work hard. So a thank you to them - for that.
Now - a question this week is what the best excercise to build up the calves - mine are not good at all!

hey man, i have tried many ex’s for building calves but lately my fav is using the smith machine, stack it up with as much iron as possible the do raises with the bar resting on the shoulders. I found for best results use something under your feet to act as a step so u can get the whole range of movement in the down direction also. I do 4 sets of 20, 10 with a wide stance then 10 with feet together it gives a real burn. Then i just use a 45 legpress machine and push it with my toes, again about 20 erps, 4 sets.
Your calves are a muscle that is used a hell of a lot more than most other muscles and therefore the reps should be high and means also the recovery is good allowing u to train them every second if not every day and the recovery should be fine and growth will be imminent.

Hey Sumpy - thanks for the suggestion. I will give those exercises a go - Sounds like I need to be working my calves more often than I am.

Calves: a body part that one could get away with doing twice a week.
