Pre-Hab Activities
So, in the past 2 weeks, I have had a significantly reduced level of exercise. Instead of climbing stairs for 30 intense minutes, I’ve been getting in te pool to “Hydrocycle” - bicycling in the water. This activity, albeit “unique” has its benefits: mild resistance is provided by the water…cool temperature of the water is soothing to my knee. I am still maintaining strength of my upper body. Today, I worked biceps, triceps, and delts for 60 minutes. I followed this up with a Pilates class desgned for those stricken by Multiple Sclerosis. With all the dealings with my injured knee, I “forgot” that I have a chronic, debilitating illness. Whatever…it’s all relative…as I never forget to “Appreciate the Negative.”

Hi - I too tore my ACL and had to go through exactly the same thing. I so hated to cool my jets and I never thought I get back my muscle tone - I lost and inch and a half on my quads. I am happy to say that I competed again 9 months after the surgery and am now stronger than ever a year later. Hang in there, I know it is a bummer!

Wish you the best on your re-hab…I went thru a knee injury 5 years ago too, so I knew well the hard road to recovery
Nice to hear your very positive outlook! Good luck!
