At it again….this time a new workout routine - CrossFit Training

Yes, I got sidelined from previous weight training success with a blown out hernia. Have to be honest here but it hurt. The surgery to repair it needless to say set me back and got me down on lifting heavy. My squats did me in. I love doing them but body said no….I got discouraged and never got back to training until today.

What happened??? My health is up to me and without it my whole life is effected negatively. I came across CrossFit Training websites and they got me inspired to get back into shape. This time using MIIT(Moderate Intensity Interval Training) and Cross training with Bodyweight and calisthenics exercises with some light weightlifting. Starting out slow so as to not overtrain or injury myself again.

Today, my workout was MIIT of jumpingjacks - 30 seconds x9 with rest at 30,30,60,60,90,90,90,90 seconds.

Then 2 sets at 8 and 9 reps. of 25 lbs. dumbells squat-clean-overpress movements, my creation exercise (probably someone has it listed on some exercise list but I have not heard of it yet).

I was worked-out very good…felt pumped and winded at the same time…again it felt very good….more to follow.

Going in the right direction

Yes…I am still at it. Did suffer a groin pull and 4 days of bad colds, but only caused a few more days of recovery. 

I know by some hardcore trainees that my progress is slow but for me this is working great.  I have lost 12 pounds of fat and even though i haven’t measured my bodyfat, I know I am gaining muscle because the mirror and my strength increases tell me no lies. I am feeling more energy and have lost 2 1/2 inches on my waist…people at work say I look as if I am on somthing because of my energy levels. My wife states my face is looking more athletic and trim…..This is "going in the right direction"!!!

Progress is small, but steady

It has been two weeks with 4 workouts completed. This progress might seem small for many but it is my plan to start slow and steady to get my body prepared for lifting weights with high - intensity. I have loss 1/2"  in my waist….that is good, I can take 1/2" inch every two weeks and get to my 34" waistline in 10 months and 3 weeks.

My strength is improving so I feel great about my progress so far.

I did it..My first workout in many years!

Yes I did it…I completed my first workout. It was short and not a lot of tonnage moved but it is the beginning of my journey to a new body. Step by step, I will go thru each workout, eat each meal with the thought of getting in shape….My goal must be reached, it will be reached and surpassed.

Hello Everyone in CyberSpace,

This is my first start at this blog and have just signed up with bodybuilding.com.

I have lots to do in getting back into shape and this marks my beginning. I will set up my workout routine, start dieting and will keep this bodyblog and bodyspace updated all along to way. Any comments to help me and others along the path the top fitness (descent size and rockhard muscle) will be appericated.
