Lets talk motivation.

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Really one form of motivation…fitness and healthy cooking magazines.  There is nothing that makes me more excited then opening my mailbox and finding the newest Muscle and Fitness or Muscle Development.  Also a huge fan of Oxygen and Reps.  Now my absolute favorite is M&F.   Yes the pics are pretty but what really gets me excited is the workouts.  That’s right.  Those great programs they come up with to help people reach their goals and make gym time a little more fun and affective.   I can visualize going through each workout.  Feel how my body will respond performing that exercise.  Imagine what the results will be from hitting every rep or performing those advance moves like drop sets, negatives, supers and compounds.  Is there really anything better than that.? Well except being in the gym and actually doing them . LOL  With my magazines, I can kick back in a nice hot bubble bath and think of getting hot and sweaty.  Life is good.

Now you may be wondering why I threw in the cooking magazines.  Well because I like variety, spice, and really good conversations.  So I cant throw in just any old cooking magazine, I would be looking at all those great recipes filled with fat, extra calories, and sugar and gain weight just thinking of it.  By choosing a healthy cooking magazine like Clean Eating and Healthy Cooking from Taste of Homes, I make better choices.  Recently I picked up the summer Clean Eating.  (Gonna have to subscribe) What wonderful recipes and meal plans.  Plus they provide nutritional information too.  There was a great article on emotional eating as well.  Yep. I am guilty.  LOL  This one has all kinds of yummy thing for backyard barbecues.  Speaking of grilling, Nic what about grilled shrimp or Moroccan grilled chicken.  Both would be wonderful with the Mediterranean salad and a wild berry mojitos.

Anyway, hope you all find a great magazine to provide you with some great motivation in and out of the gym, in the kitchen, or in the backyard.  Stay strong and eat clean.

Note: Bonus day this is my second post.  Read about my little green eyed monster on previous post.

The little green eyed monster

Friday, June 6th, 2008

I am jealous.  No it’s not over women that have great bodies. I will get mine one day. No it’s not over people who have more money.  I am not a materialistic person.  Yeah I really don’t care what kind of car you drive.  As long as mine gets me to and from the gym, life is good. Give me the basics plus a few sups and my gym membership and I am a happy camper.

You want to know what I am jealous of.  Ok, don’t laugh.  I haven’t even told you and you’re laughing at me.  Here goes.  I am jealous over people who can do real pull-ups.  That’s right.  Seeing someone do a great form pull-up just brings out the little monster in me.  If they can do multiples…I am in complete awe.  I am probably standing there with such envy showing in my expression.  It’s the one time I will stop and truly watch someone in the gym.  Oh my and if a guy is doing them, just watching the back muscle work.  Sorry fell of in that daydream again.

Anyway back to my point.  I want to do pull-ups.  I don’t want to do just one. I want to be strong enough to climb a rope using just my arms. I want to be able to complete an obstacle course. I want my back to look as great as those guys/gals in the gym.  I know I cant see it but just knowing it does is enough.

I have been doing P90x as you all know. I must say I think my back is getting stronger.  Now most of the moves I use the lat pull down machine to complete because even with a chair, I couldn’t do a pull-up.  Yeah, I sucked.  Then I had this great idea.  Now my gym doesn’t have an assisted pull-up machine, so I took my 50 pound bands, hooked them to the pull-up bars,  step in them and I can pump out 3 to 5 then I finish up with the lat pull down machine.  My back has been sore all week and I feel like I made a positive step towards my goal.  Yeah I look silly. Yeah I am sure some of those people are like what the hell is she doing now. You know what. I don’t care.  It works. I feel good. I am making changes.  I wonder what they will think when I bring out the chains for the bench press.

You know what tonight is.  That’s right it is back and leg day.  I am so going to make it happen.  I have to.  I was challenged by my friend 1_2_ Rage.  I know I can meet that challenge in the next 60 days.  A real pull-up with a loud Woohoo at the top that can be heard all the way to Afghanistan.  Listen for me.   Have a great day. Train hard. Eat clean. Watch out for that green eyed monster.  Never know what it will stir up.

Loser! Oh Yeah!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I am still running strong on the fact that I am a loser again. Had myself a fabulous shoulder, bi, and tri workout last night.  Compounded all my moves.  Made it burn baby.  Don’t you love it when you know you are pushing your body to the limit?  Diet was right on target.  No junk. No excess calories. No temptations.

Today I am going to do kempo. I am feeling strong and frisky.  Ready to kick some butt.  LOL

Recently I added altered state to my sups.  Talk about cranking up the heat.  I love it.  I just restocked my muscletech sups thanks to their support of the bodybuilding.com transformation contest.  I am so excited. I really love their products.  This time around I am also getting nanox9. I can’t wait to see how that works.  I seriously think the Apoldan is the reason for the maintenance and even the extra strength I am getting while dieting.  I have only gotten strong while dropping weight.  I need to restock a few of my gaspari sups that I am almost out of as well.  Time to buy some more intrapro for certain.  Can’t due without protein.

Want to give a shout out to my friend easy_maz. Today is his birthday.  I hope he has a fabulous time and many more happy years.  Live them to the fullest my friend.

Let’s see what else can I tell you that you may or may not want to know.  My wellness program at work has been approved and will begin June 30th.  Getting the final things together now.  It’s really in-depth which makes me excited because I can hit on all things wellness and safety related.  I will be giving a presentation/demonstration for sun safety the beginning of July.  I am really excited about.  I bought UV beads to demonstrate sunscreen and uv rays.  I hope I am as good as my man, Noir, the science teacher at explaining this stuff.  LOL

I will also be holding a stretching class every Tuesday morning for the employees.  Just basic moves.  I have around six different mini programs to conduct.  Well I won’t bore you any more.  Have a great day. Eat Clean. Workout intense.

The dreaded weigh in wasnt so bad.

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Back on the decline.  Woohoo!!  Down two pounds.  Its about freakin time.  17 more to go for the first goal.  Tightening everything up has helped.  My friend is still right.  As long as I can stay focused, I will make the changes.  If he will just kick my butt every time I start to drift, I would never have a setback. LOL

I am so motivated to get these thighs back to firm and smooth.  Too much jiggle happening.  I know I will get it.  I have already made great improvements.

Tonight is shoulders, bis and tris.  I am ready to make the burn.  My shouldrs are my weakest link.  They fail before I am ready.  I will just keep pushing them.  One day they will do what I want.

Have a great day. Train hard.

Your not progressing like you should be!!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

You ever have one of the friends that are just blunt and tell you like it is.  I have one.  He is the best.  He doesnt sugar coat.  He tells me I am not making progress like I should and that I need to get my shit together and make this happen.  Of course he goes into more detail.  Yep! Makes me really think good and hard about everything.  He keeps me focused.  I love him for that.

He says I am never going to reach my goals if I let things get in the way. It doesnt matter if it emotional stress, temptations, or just plan laziness.  He’s right.  How bad do I want it?  I cant let nothing and no one interfere.  Its all about me.  I have to make every day, every minute count.

Wow! Just wrapped up a fabulous cardio session.  Decided to try out one of Shaun Ts program. All I can say is wow.  Now I am not the most coordinated person but I kept up and didnt look all the silly dancing around.  My heart rate was up and I was sweating within the first few minutes.  It was a great change from the treadmill.

Speaking of treadmills.. my new one came in.  Its very nice.  Threaten to write my name all over it but you know the gym leases them and writing on them is frowned upon.  LOL  I will log many miles and burn lots of fat with it.  Thats what count.  Plus if your on my treadmill when I want it.  I will make you life very uncomfortable until you decide to vacate the machine.  Mine! Mine! Mine!

Last night did chest and back.  Pushups are definitely getting better. Did more than I ever have before.  Diamond pushs went pretty smooth too.  For my pullups I took one of my bands and hooked it to the bar.  Made my own assisted machine.  At least I felt like I was accomplishing more.  When I couldnt do another one that way, I went back to the cables.  My back is complaining this morning so I know I did it some good.

Yesterday I did some deadlifting.  Hadnt done that in a bit.  Right now my max is around 205 so I lost a little there.  I have no doubt I will get it back up quickly.  Shooting for 250 by the bash.

Tonight is plyometrics.  Cant wait.  Legs are feeling good and strong.  Working on the jump shot.  LOL  Diet is going well.  taking it one day at a time.

Stay strong. Eat clean.

Progress pics are up.  I am seeing some changes.  That I am very happy about.  I still have a long ways to go but I determined to see this through.

Plans for the next four weeks:

I will continue to do the p90x with cardio in the am.  I will also be adding in more weights so I can kick b’s butt at the bash.  Sundays I will hit the gym to work on the three powerlifts.  During the week my main focus is burning the fat.

Diet has been written out and should help with getting the fat loss started again.  I went back to my original plans when I started the bb.com transformation contest.  It worked the best for me.  I want this so bad.  Success is mine if I can stay dedicated and strong.  I have something to prove to myself.
