Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail
If I can only remember that. Last night I sat down and planned my workouts, both cardio and weight training, for the week. It is going to be a Sunday night tradition. I like going in the gym knowing exactly what I am there to do, how much weight I am going to lift, and how fast I am going to run, walk, step, bike etc. I dont feel like one of those drifters. You know the ones that come in and float from machine to machine, dont really push themselves. I will be focused and visualizing the results.
I am a fan of Robert Kennedy. I pick up oxygen, musclemag, reps, just to ready his note from the pub. Sometimes it gives me just enough of a kick in the butt to keep motivated. I now cut them out and put them in my workout journal so I can get a good kick in the rump throughout the month. I can just imagine him as a personal trainer. He would say, " Are you expecting results putting in that kind of effort?" or "Go ahead shove that donut in your mouth, it will go straight to the butt you are trying to get rid of. Hit the treadmill for an hour more."
Bill Phillips a pretty good motivator too. I read his body for life books and several of his articles. Motivation is the key. I will stay motivated. This is it for the fat years. I am going to drop the weight and to celebrate I am going skydiving in July 2008.
Yesterday I took my starting pictures. Boy, if they dont keep me motivated for change, I dont know what will.
