HELP!!!
This is a cry for help!
I have lost motivation. I am now coming up with any excuse that I can so not to lift. I know that I ahve been busy at work, and using that as an excuse, but I am finding it easier to not exercise than to exercise.
This is a plea for help. What can I do. I know that I need to get my ass back into the gym, but I don’t. I am not getting sloppy lookin or gaining weight that I lost. I am still doing Cardio, and keeping up with my diet, but damn I need to get motivated.
Any suggestions!

Maybe a training partner might help. A younger teacher adopted me as his training partner. He invited me out to eat with his fiancee. He is a great motivating factor - just having that person who is waiting for you at the gym or who you know you gotta show up or it will impact their training negatively.
Being "other motivated," right? You turn it from "I didn’t go to the gym," to "I screwed up my training partner’s workout."
To me, it is about accountability that way and definitely motivating.
SO GET A #$%& TRAINING PARTNER AND GET YOUR @$$ IN THE GYM!
Hey, from one old man who’s a teacher to another old man who’s a teacher, right?
I’ve only been in education for five years, but I’ve been lifting since I was 15. It’s discouraging at times to not make the progress I’d like or to have an injury set me back, but I stay motivated by reading the muscle magazines. I’ve always been a fan of men’s and women’s bodybuilding and what people can achieve with their appearance.
What are your goals? Why should you go to the gym? Write it down and post it in your bathroom so when you shave in the morning you know, you’re reminded, you stay motivated.
"I want to lose x pounds."
"I want to lower my cholesterol by x points."
"I want to impress that sexy secretary or gym hottie or wife, etc."
WHY!?
Answer those questions and then get to the gym. It’s like doing your homework. You’ve got to at least read the book or listen in class (workouts) to do well on that final exam (see some progress).

Hey, I just thought of something else. At 45 I’m paying more and more attention to these articles about testosterone replacement. One of the things they mention, iirc, is that reduced test can actually make a person feel that lack of motivation or aggressiveness in life in general.
I was listening to a book on tape of "You - Staying Younger" (those docs who wrote "You - The Handbook")… may have those titles wrong -=googles=-

Anyway, I’ve been considering getting my test measured to get a ballpark of whatever. (Can you tell I’m an art teacher and not a classroom teacher?)
Have a great weekend! GET IN THE GYM!

From one teacher to another…LOL
I have had my testerone numbers checked and was on a testerone patch for awhile. The numbers are fine.
Maybe a partner would help. I don’t know. I’ll try anything
