DAY 23

Thursday, December 20th, 2007
Just cardio today. I took two of those lovely black n red capsules when I got up and threw my gym stuff on, threw the beast in the car—it was 31 degrees, practically a heat wave here now, so I don’t wanna hear any of your crap, Brett!!!! Oh, and also I didn’t throw him…so I don’t wanna get all caught up in some technicality of yours!! I gently placed him in the back seat with his little blanket and gave him a nice, SOFT pat on the head.

I was excited to do my cardio this morning b/c I took yesterday off. I did sprints on the treadmill for 20 min, then walked at incline 15 for 15min. It seemed to go by so quick. I’m telling you that Cytolean really does the trick. I’ve been taking two at a time now for about 2-2 1/2 weeks and it still seems to be just as effective for me. I will take the SP 250 tomorrow before I lift :)

On a positive note–there was a character at the gym! HOrray….my long lost buddy, CREEPY OLD GUY….or COG as I call him. COG was at the high school track I went to over the summer EVERY SINGLE time I went there. It didn’t matter what time, he was there. I’d pull up and see his RED minivan parked in the lot—sideways and up on the curb so he could be under a tree in the shade…and there he would be…in his RED shorts with his RED thermos of water….no shirt, of course, just to make him that much creepier…and he would walk like one lap and then go up to the top of the stairs and sit there…and watch…what, I don’t know and I don’t wanna know. He must have stayed there for hours a day cuz I never saw him come and I never saw him go. COG is at least 80 years old….bless his heart…but come on!! Do you have to sit at the top of the stairs and watch people (meaning me….cuz COG and I were the only crazies who went when it was 110degrees and midday). I just prayed everyday that he wouldn’t pass out or have a heart attack or something cuz then I would feel obligated to bust out my CPR skills. Screw that good samaritan nonsense–if COG goes down, I’m bouncin’ –I didn’t see nuttin!!!!!! So wrong. I disappoint myself.

Today (which is really yesterday cuz it’s after midnight) was an off- day for me. I don’t like the off days …but if I have to rest then whatever..I guess I’ll do it. Tomorrow will just be cardio for me. I’m off this weekend ~horray~ so I’ll be HITTIN’ THE GYM LIKE IT OWES ME MONEY (haaaa–Deric). I may workout with my nephew this weekend…if he’s not chicken!! Yeah, Anthony, you heard me…

SupaPUmp two fiddy in tha houuuuuuuuse. Ha. Ok, I am lacking sleep…sooo unlike me, I know. So much to do in preparation for the holidays. I’m having my fam over on Sunday and I gotta cook…or cleanup…or do somethin!!! lol.

I took just one Cytolean this morning cuz I wasn’t working out just yet. However, I did have a little coffee, so either way I was all jacked up!!! Ha. Kidding…I was not that bad. Today I guess is 3 weeks, but really I guess it is tomorrow b/c I think I started them on a Wed. Either way… yeah, I’m really starting to fill out nicely….lol…

I took my usual 2 scoops of SP250 on my way to the gym this afternoon. I think I’ll try the orange flavor next time…I don’t know, there’s just something kinda “fake” about blue raspberries, you know. Well, for a fake fruit, it does taste good, I’ll give it that. I had a good chest n back workout. I was in my zone again… It’s so nice to just go and do something for yourself and focus on you for awhile. I’m fortunate to be able to do that more than some b/c I don’t have kids and don’t have to worry about daycare, making dinner, bedtime, blah blah….I don’t know how I would do it then!!! Kudos to you, moms!! and dads :)

Ok, today’s workout was chest/back done in supersets again. Actually, the supersets don’t always work so well b/c sometimes someone takes your equipment, so in that case I jump on whatever is open (that is, if angry stares and tapping of the foot, followed by a long siiiigh and rolling of eyes doesn’t get my point across). It went something like this…

I feel more energetic doing cardio after taking Cytolean than if I just take SuperPump (which is rare). Had to do it today though. If I have time, I like to break the workouts up because of this. I’m gonna keep sticking to 2 Cytoleans…I feel good taking that dose. If I took 3 right now I may spontaneously combust on the stair master or something. I still feel more energetic/awake/talkative when I take just one of them, which I do later in the day.

Still haven’t eaten any Xmas cookies…I swear!!! Although I have made a ton of them…and have more to make…errrrr. I was in the kitchen earlier and had my eggs on the counter and I just so happened to put them down by these Xmas cookies I got for Glavin, my beast….”Wait just a minute! What is happening here!!? The dog is even eating Xmas cookies!!! Ahhhhh” I wonder if I ate one of his cookies….would that really count…..I think not….now if you’ll excuse me…I got some dog cookies to woof down!!!

DAY 20

oOOOOOHHHH…I think I pulled somethin in my arse!!! Uggghhhh…hate that. I think it was on the smith machine leg presses. You would think I woulda stopped….but dammit, I was doing my smith machine!! *** :) *** I luv that smith machine like a fat kid luv cake <—- 50cent…my boy…haha. Ok, onto business. I woke up and felt a little better than yesterday…throat not really sore, but some sinus crap going on. Maybe I ate some bad snow balls yesterday….those first few snow falls bring some nasty, dirrrty snow. Note to self…

I took 2 Cytoleans when I got up….I love that stuff. I drove to the gym…beast in tow…if he doesn’t get to go somewhere he gets depressed and starts moping around…I didn’t need THAT drama so I said "fine, get in the car!!!" He likes to chew blankets…???…so I threw his blankets in the back seat and took off. Yes, it’s cold…but he generates a lot of heat so I don’t want anyone calling the humane society on me!!!! It stays plenty warm in the car for him….the summer is a different story…he can’t handle the heat. Gawd…I feel like I’m defending myself here. He likes it OK!!!! I don’t abuse my dog!!

Ok, back to the workout. I did cardio this morning. Both treadclimbers were open today. ??? Was this another joke? There are only two of them first of all…and one is usually broken…and the other one is usually taken. They made me even sign up for it a few weeks ago…20 min only…and they were watching me, too…I could feel it. Burning a hole in my head….it’s just a treadclimber, peeps…chill. I did 45 min on that bad boy….it went pretty quick…and there weren’t really even any characters to watch today.

I took 2 scoops of SP 250 on my way to the gym….what a waste b/c I couldn’t do my usual monster leg workout like I wanted to…

I was so jealous….man, I need to learn how to do that!!! I actually asked this other hip hop/break dancing guy who was in there over the summer if he could teach me….ha…said he would, but I think he was just trying to get rid of me!!  It’s hard to dance to my tupac via line dancing…."huggin’  on my mama from my jail cell"….uhhh, no

Almost 3 weeks into my supps…they are fabulous, although I have been busting my @$$ !!!! They aren’t magic???…What?! Maybe I’ll take some pics Tues or Wed, but not in that dang bloody bikini again—that was a migraine starter! I’ll save those til the end—I’m soo looking forward to it!<–sarcasm. Hopefully it won’t be a migraine starter next time. *fingers crossed* Speaking of headaches…Is there a reason why some people insist on bathing in cologne, perfume, body spray, what have you, before they workout? I’m not talking a spritz or two of body spray or scented deodorant. I’m talking BATH!!Whhhhhyyy?!! I can’t handle it–I think I may go off on someone about it one of these days along with the people who think they can leave a puddle of sweat on a bench and walk away. Grrrrrr…

So today there was this guy at the gym–he was peculiar looking enough the way it was. Then he had to take it a step farther and douse himself in Patchouli. OMG…I’d rather smell b.o. at the gym than Patchouli. It’s awful..I can’t stand it. That smell alone is enough to give me a headache and make me wanna shoot someone when I’m not huffing and puffing and sharing the same air with them! Why? Why!!? Same goes for the vanilla smelling perfume–something about it just makes me insane and wanna start breaking stuff. I’m sure it’s lovely in small doses outside the gym (not on me!)…but COME ON!!

So back to peculiar guy at the gym. There I am waaaay over at one side…there he is waaaay over there somewhere. Minding my own business as always…I can smell Patchouli coming closer and closer. I see peculiar guy with my peripherals quickly approaching. Patchouli boy—stay away from me!!! Closer…closer…Hmmm, let’s see where do I wanna go? How ’bout right THERE….right next to the one person who can’t stand my cologne. There’s a whole gym…what are the odds? Not to mention there were like 3 high pulleys on the cables to do lat pulldowns…Noooo…had to park his Patchouli @$$ right by me!! As if that weren’t annoying enough, Patchouli boy then starts doing some weird exercise. Just when you think a lat pulldown is pretty cut n dry…P boy comes up with a strange new twist. He starts flailing his arms about and causing a ruckus…coincidentally pushing his Patchouli-infested air my way. Enuf was enuf!! I moved to another cable and did the same exercise. He saw me. I don’t care. It was either move and risk hurting his feelings ooooor kill him. Always taking the high road….

Planned on a nice, long workout today, but woke up with a sore throat. I was so mad about it! I wondered if it was from yoga and all the deep breathing in the heat…never happened before though. Buuuut..I was super focused yesterday…it really kicked my butt…and my hams/glutes are sore from all the stabilizing. BTW, the instructor singled me out (not once, but twice, thank you) and said, "good job, Danica." Ok, he called me the wrong name, but he was totally talking about me. I broke my focus only for a moment to whisper to my friend "hey…did you hear that…good job to me?" hehe..just in case they didn’t hear it you know….bragging.

I didn’t wanna push it too much so I just took the SP 250 and lifted today. No cardio. My back is sore, too from yoga. The girl who passed out last week was there, too…but she knew the Benny Henn instructor wasn’t there to catch her this time so she didn’t even try it. Faker!!! On a good note–I did start doing the backward bend thing where you are on your knees and lean back and grab your ankles and kinda bow…the camel maybe? I don’t know…but I hate it!!! Supposedly it "opens up your heart" and is good for people who have ever had their heart broken. Hey, I don’t make this stuff up. I say give me some chocolate and a 40 oz…..what is this camel nonsense? Kidding…I think I’ll learn to like it. I haven’t quite mastered how to get out of it gracefully so I look like a complete moron getting back up. Ha!

Dang it!! I’ve backed myself into a workout corner today! Long weekend at work…barely any sleep…woke up late today and hot yoga is quickly approaching so I gotta get my ducks in a row and hurry up. Takes like 25min to drive there, plus got a lot of snow last night….and I gotta get there at least 15 min early so I can get me a spot…then get all my food ready to take with me tonight. I’ll skip the shower. Ha! Kidding kidding. Although, hot yoga is a "shower" of sorts. Man, I hope there are a lot of people….I love when there are alot of people. I focus better and there is more energy in the room. Plus, it’s even hotter!! :) I’m all about sweating my a** off…Awesome. Anyways….gotta hurry now. I’ll write more later if I have time or if anyone passes out/dies in yoga.

The 17th day is underway!! HOrray! Ok, I’ll stop there with the annoying rhyming crap. I’m just a white girl….not a rapper like I am in my dreams…and when drinking. And occasionally in church. Ok, so I didn’t mention this yesterday for fear of sounding like a “weirdo”—ha–but I searched high and low for some stinking snow boots. Snow boots…in Nebraska…it’s winter, there is snow…this sounds like an easy task. Well, apparently it’s a surprise to everyone besides myself that a snow flake or two may fall in the wintertime in this region. I went to five places looking and I’m not counting the one place that actually did have two pair….conveniently sized 6 and 12…don’t get me started on that…

So I had to go to Target last night anyways so I figured I’d check there. To my disbelief, they actually had them. In normal sizes, too! So….I kinda killed two birds with one stone in that little trip. :) I was so excited to try em out this morning in the snow. Haaha! Take that stupid snow!! Stay the hell outta my pant legs!!! Small victories….me, one. Snow, zero.

Took the usual two Cytoleans when I got up. I went to the gym right away to do some interval training. Cardio. Damn step mill almost killed me today. I’ve had it with it’s “I’m the king of cardio equipment” ‘tude. I was feeling a lot of energy flowing through my veins this morning so I did 25 min, instead of the usual 20. I did faster intervals, too…with my weights…and this is what almost killed me! I even threw in some of my “fancy footwork” just to show that step mill who was boss.

AM TRAINING:
cardio 25 min intervals –> manual setting, alternate 1min slower and 1 min fast with weight or fancy steppin

Not only was the step mill about killing me…I spotted a total character in the crowd of exercises this morning…I couldn’t help but periodically “check in” to see what he was doing. Everything he did next was even more shocking than the “exercise” he just got done with….it truly was entertaining. Don’t worry…nothing to hurt himself physically, just socially. Plus…bonus….I saw “Dwight Schrute” from The Office again. Man, he is gettin some nice guns on him!! Watch out, Jim Halpert….Dwight ain’t playin no more!!

DAY 16

Today I finally got to go to spinning. Thank God….I was really getting worked up over that whole situation. It was an ok class…an “endurance” class….ok, so basically we did almost the same thing the whole time, which was kinda boring. The music WAS NOT HELPING!!! It was some kinda weird disco something…I don’t even know what it was…it was not doing it for me, I know that. I stayed focused though…mainly staring at my triceps in the mirror!! Ha! They were kinda popping out today. I would really like to lean my upper arms out. I don’t know if it’s happening. Hopefully when I take some more pics I’ll be able to tell.

This lady almost passed out today in spinning…or something. I don’t know what her deal was. She had been there before, but she got off her bike about 1/2 way through and I heard this kinda “ahhh!” high pitched short little scream from behind me. I thought someone fell off their bike so I looked back and this lady had gotten off and was being all dramatic about how hard she was working and how she just had to leave….what? Watching her wave her arms around in the air and talk about how “girl! I just got to go! I can’t move my legs no mo!” was probably more entertaining than if she had fallen off the bike. Perhaps she just couldn’t take the disco music anymore…

I took one cytolean when I got up. I didn’t do cardio right away. Had places to be and I wanted to go to the noon spin class. So about 3 hours later I took one more cytolean. Then went to spinning. I definitely prefer taking two.

I had legs to do tonight. Horray! I took my SP 250, two scoops on my way to the gym. I don’t really feel any different right away. It’s not until I start getting into my workout that I feel extremely focused and strong. I get into a good rythym and just knock out set after set. Like a machine! Yep, that’s me…MACHINE!!!

Had such an awesome leg workout tonight. Changed up my order and exercises a little. I mainly did two exercises at a time, back to back. It’s always hard to do it b/c people “steal” your machines, but then I improvise a little.

PM TRAINING #2:

-smith machine single leg press (LOVE THESE) 35’s X 20-30
-smith machine lunges 10’s X 15-20 (light, but popped up and did these right after the presses…burn)

-bench step-ups holding 10lb in each hand X 15-20 per leg

-single lunges on bosu ball with back leg on bence
-single lunges on bosu ball with back leg on ground

-prone leg curl 40-50 lb X 20-25
-run TM incline 12% for 1 min…I believe this is what kicked my @$$

-leg extension drop set starting with 60lb X 20
-rotary calf 45 X 20-25

I think it was that damn incline running that did me in…. haven’t done that in awhile….kills after ham curl…but feels good… I heart pain

This may be a long one….I have a lot to say!! Unusual, I know. Let’s see…I took two Cytoleans in preparation for my cardio. I was not feeling like doing it today. I just wasn’t. I was trying to talk myself out of it. I’ve been wanting to check out this pottery place kinda by my house b/c it was the only place I could find that would let me come in to use their potter’s wheel, which I haven’t done since high school. So before I go to the gym I call them to see when I could come in…hoping they would say, “oh, you can come in now if you want.” I was trying to get out of cardio, you see. Anyways, they were really picky and specific about when I had to come in. Friday at 1pm. Like I have time to work around YOUR schedule, lady!! So I found another place downtown, which is not close to my house at all. They were cool. I could come in anytime I wanted and they wouldn’t make me wait 2 wks for my pot to dry before they fired it….I’m a little impatient I guess. Plus, it’s $50 and you could come in everyday for a month, no appointment, no signing up for a class. The othere place was gonna charge me $20/hour. Smokin crack or something. Anyways, I was really tempted to go down there this morning, but ***siiiigh*** I went to do my cardio.  

Now, I’ve decided that the world does not want me to go to spinning. At least the people at this gym. I called them late last night cuz I wasn’t at home and couldn’t get online to see the schedule. I asked the dude working the front desk what time the spinning classes were today. 6am and 6pm. “What? No noon class anymore?” “Nope.” “OK, thank you…you have been a very helpful young man.” “You wanna hook up?” “Uhh, no.” Haa. kidding. Ok, so I get to the gym at about 12:45 and I’m in the locker room, minding my own business as usual. And I see these women with cycling shoes on. Wait a minute…what is going on!! That guy lied to me!! So I asked this woman if she went to spinning (just to make sure before I go find this front desk guy and kick him in the shins for not knowing how to read a schedule). She informed me she was going to, but there were no bikes left….which brings me to another point: WTF!!! It’s a Wed afternoon….not a good sign of things to come ’round New Year time when there are gonna be even more people. Hey! I know your pain, lady….at least they didn’t all welcome her with open arms and smiling faces only to lead her to a bike with no handle bars or something. So I opted for the Step Mill again. 30 min. It was all I could handle, really cuz this guy comes up out of nowhere and gets on the one right next to me. There are 9 other empty step mills. He smelled really bad. I had to go.

I was so excited to take my SuperPump 250 tonight and go workout. I was going to meet a friend to workout…which I rarely ever do…I work better alone. So, I don’t know where all my stupid sports bras go, but something is going on here. I have like 38 of them, but surprisingly enough I conveniently had them all in the washer at the same time…and even more convenient…I forgot to put my clothes in the dryer so I didn’t have enough time to dry anything before I went to meet my friend to workout. Ok, fine. I’ll stop at the store and buy a stupid sports bra. So I stop on my way and get one. I get to the gym. I warmup. No workout partner so far. Ok I start lifting…no workout partner. I lift for about an hour….anyways, I was stood up. Not to mention, I drove completely out of my way to meet this person at a totally different gym than I ever even go to. And I had to stop to buy a sports bra. I should have just worn a wet one out of the washer!! Arrrr. Ok, so I had a good workout anyways. I did chest / back and they had a bunch of different machines that I’ve never used. It was worth it, I guess.

Ok, so I leave the gym and go to a Walmart nearby. I despise Walmart for lots of reasons, but it was late and I needed a few things. Mainly a toboggan…BTW, excuse me..it was brought to my attention that it was not a toboggan….thank you to the “toboggan expert” that I ran into along the way. Whatever! I’m calling it a toboggan. It’s really like a plastic sled slider thinger…technical name. So I put the “toboggan” in my cart. I’m pushing the cart. I pass by a lovely snow boot display. I need some snow boots to go romp around in, so I stop. I am looking at these boots that I thought were snow boots. They were not the prettiest, but I’m just gonna walk the beast in them and go “tobogganing” so whatever. I’m bending over and putting one on. I see this person out of my peripherals coming down the aisle. I see the person stop….right by me. For GAWD’S sake…just ignore them. Man, I attract some weird people…gotta hand it to myself there. It is Walmart, I remind myself…just look down. Just look down. So I’m tying the boot thing. I stand up. I am met by this huge, smiling head staring at me. I can see this dude’s lips moving. Oh, haaa…I had my ipod on….so I couldn’t hear what he was saying. “What?” I asked. I don’t even know why I said that cuz I still had my ipod on. Lips moving. Long sigh. I pull off my glove, take out my ipod, push pause…it was a huge production. “What? ” I ask again. Oh, then huge, smiling head guy was a little irritated that I hadn’t heard what he said the first two times. ” I saaaaaid….that boot you are trying on doesn’t match your green hat, ” he says pointing at my hat. Is this guy serious? “Ummm, yeah. YOu are right.” I don’t even know why I said anything. I should have just kept saying “what? what?” lol. Ok, so then he wanted to know who I was shopping for…mind you, I have one giant,blue toboggan thing and windshield wipers in my entire cart…in plain site. Hmmmm….my grandma…what kinda stupid question is that. Then he said some weird comment about how green must be my favorite color b/c I had a green hat, green coat and …oh, my ipod was even green…how observant of him. I didn’t say anything. I would like to say I was deep in though about something important, but all I was thinking was, “OMG…he’s right. I even have a green freaking ipod. Am I some kinda freak? The Mexico hoodie is even green. Bright green. I have green shoes….” Good thing I didn’t have the green shoes on…the stanger may have been totally freaked out by that. There were a few awkward moments of silence, then he walked away.

Maybe he was planning on robbing me then thought twice after he decided I was a crazy “green obsessed monster” girl who couldn’t even pick out boots that match. It was about that time this worker showed up out of nowhere and asked if I needed any help….this is unheard of at Walmart…so I was really freaking out by this time. She informed me that those were not snow boots and the only snow boots they had were the ones on the other side. She would be referring to the butt-ugly, plain, boring, black, bulky, blaaah boots….no, thanks. Pass on the boots. On the bright side…the toboggan was only like $8.82 and not the $18.26 or whatever weird price it said it was. Heeehe. Suckers.

That was a good workout, considering I don’t really love doing chest or back. I’ve never done a lot of these machines. It felt good to get a little different angles. I’m thinking about going to this gym just to do back/chest from now on…not sure yet. I’m kinda crazy like that

DAY 14

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007
Today really was an off day. The past two weeks have flown by!! I can’t wait to workout tomorrow—I miss my blue raspberry ice concoction…it’s lovely.

I’ve decided I’m gonna buy a toboggan tomorrow. Well, I may steal the neighbor kid’s…I haven’t decided yet..depends on how quick I’m moving at the time. I’m gonna take advantage of this snow and find me a big, massive hill and go tobogganing (?). It’s such a good workout running back up the hill in the snow. I used to go in high school every winter. Oh, those were the days…Put on the ugliest, most hideous, non-matching “whatever we could find” clothes. I felt like that little kid on A Christmas Story…”I can’t move my arms!!! Bahhhh! I have to go to the bathroom!!!”

Perhaps I can strap some gear on “the beast” and have him pull me around town while I’m at it. Together, the beast and I will help put a stop to this global warming nonsense!!

Don’t know what I’m going to do for a workout yet tomorrow. I’m gonna try to go to spinning Wed or Thurs…and they better not pull that “oh, there’s a bike over here!” over-excited BS card with me again….I’m onto these evil spinners now
