DAY 3

Friday, November 30th, 2007
Today was a busy day…only had time to squeeze in my kickboxing/Taekwondo/muay thai/kick stuff…whatever the heck it is! I don’t really know what to call it…which is why from now on I will be referring to this as “Cobra Kai dojo”….ok, so let’s get that out of the way…straight up Karate Kid right there. “I hate this stupid bike…I just wanna go home!”
Alright, so this morning I went to Cobra Kai Dojo..a little over an hour. Private lesson today (yes, I’m THAT bad ok :) ) Somehow I managed to punch myself today…what? I don’t know. I deserved it anyways! 

AM TRAINING:
Cobra Kai Dojo

I took two Cytolean today…I felt good about that. I wasn’t jittery or anything. I was very attentive and focused today. Kinda like Danielson…minus the 80’s headband, plus hot pink wrist wraps which I managed to soak with sweat again this morning. Anyways, I did better than I thought I would taking two Cytolean. I’m pretty sensitive, but I didn’t feel overly excited or anything…Oh, what am I saying!!? I punched myself in the face for cryin out loud…

No SuperPump today :( — I like that stuff! I’ve taken the IntraPro twice today…once in oatmeal, with natural peanut butter and once just with water. Not too shabby, that IntraPro….

Tomorrow I will have maybe more Cobra Kai..depending on the weather, and hot yoga…that is NOT depending on the weather…ain’t nuthin stopping those yoga people!! Man, it was hot in there the other night–more people = hotter room= more sweat= :)

DAY 2

Thursday, November 29th, 2007
I woke up early and took one Cytolean, then got to the gym about 25 min later. I felt ready to work, but my session didn’t fly by like yesterday…those speed intervals were killing me this morning! I may try to “up” the dose to two Cytolean tomorrow (recommended is 1-3 in the am and then 1-2 more 6-8 hours later). I’ve only taken it once per day the past two days b/c I’ve been taking the SP 250 later on before I lift…and that is a stimulant as well. 

Yeah–I’m gonna experiment with two Cyto. tomorrow.

AM TRAINING:
cardio

20 min Step Mill/ speed intervals
10 min bike
stretch

I took one scoop (plus a tiny little smidge more :) ) of SP 250 on my way to the gym. By my first few sets I felt really pumped up. I felt like I could be there for hours!

PM TRAINING:
legs/glutes

4 supersets of the following:

-leg press (20-25, dropset from 75)
-lunges with cable (20X 40)

-leg extension (drop set from 50lb X 20-30)
-seated curl (40lb X 20-30)

-treadmill walking lunges, incline 15%–about a hundred
-backwards walking 15 % for about 3 min

4 giant sets:

-single leg bench step ups X20, no weight
-single leg cable glute kickbacks (drop set from 35lb X 30-50)
-low back extension (no weight, squeeeze the glutes and hams X 12-15)
-single leg lunges with back leg on bench (burnout…was fried after about 15)

I do quick-paced MONSTER leg workouts. I love to do giant sets, but the gym was kinda busy tonight and people were getting in my way!!! I have goals here, people….MOVE!! A Ludacris song comes to mind…hmmm. So, I had to improvise a bit b/c I couldn’t hog all the machines. What was it, like National Leg Workout Day today? Geeez–everyone and their brother was doing legs tonight! I think I even saw my methuselah (as King Marmoset called him) neighbor puttin in work on the hip sled! Word?

Day 1

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007
I got my supplements in the mail yesterday! I got home yesterday and was not expecting to see them and they were there so I danced a little jig, maybe yelled a bit….of course the guy next door just so happened to be walking by. Oh, well…he’s like 110 years old and walks around the block every afternoon…bless his little heart…I’ve almost ran the poor guy over three times backing outta my garage.  

Anyways…back to the supps. I received two jugs of IntraPro (one Double Chocolate and the other Vanilla), a bottle of Cytolean, a tub of SuperPump 250 (Blue Raspberry).

I am pretty sensitive to caffeine alone so I started with just one scoop of the SP 250 this morning about 30 min before I did my morning workout (back/chest/abs/cardio). It mixed really well. I used a shaker with about 8 oz of water. Taste was not bad at all…was pretty good. And it was BLUE like Kool-Aid.  On a side note…I did get quite a bit in my left eye (don’t ask)…anyways, it didn’t really sting or anything and I can still see so bonus on that!!! I considered calling Poison control and asking them what I should do if I got SuperPump 250 in my eye….just to throw a little kink in their system….hehe

AM TRAINING:
back/chest/abs/cardio

I usually do everything in the form of a circuit or supersets. I change the order, exercises, reps, etc. everytime. I don’t pay too much attention to the weight I do, but do concentrate on form. I’m usually moving pretty quick. Today was as follows:

4 supersets, 15-20 reps of
-Incline DB press (20 lbs)
-DB single arm rows (20’s)

-pushups with Smith machine bar (like a decline really)
-Lat pull down machine (70 lb)

-traveling pushups (as many as I could)
-seated row (40 lbs, dropset)–did more reps here, about 30

ABS –circuit 3 sets of 15-20
-reverse crunches with ball
-hip thrusts (legs up to ceiling)…burning by now!!
-ball crunches

CARDIO –30 min
-Step Mill 20 min intervals
-recumbent bike 10 min

SAUNA/STRETCH

My workout flew by and I think I was there between 1.5-2 hours. I felt like I had a lot of energy and was just really zoned in on myself. It was awesome. Can’t wait till legs tomorrow with SuperPump! Legs are my fave!!

Later in the day I took one (ONE!) Cytolean. That stuff is awesome!! I have taken Hydroxycut Hardcore before and this was better, IMO anyways. I am usually pretty quiet and “to myself”….but I felt like talking A LOT! lol. I think I made this lady I work with mad cuz she was telling a story about her grandma who lives in Arkansas and went to Walmart down there at like 4am or something crazy on Black Friday. “..but they do things different down there, ” she said. “They let you in the store, but nobody can put anything in their cart til they blow a whistle.” What? So I said, “So it’s like Redneck X-games!?” It just came out! I think she was offended….like I was calling her grandma a redneck…hey don’t blame me…take it up with Gaspari.

PM WORKOUT:

Bikram yoga 90 min

no Cytolean or SP for this  :) hehee…that would be interesting, though
I had a really good workout in yoga tonight…lots of people. I was very focused….LOTS of sweat..was extra hot in there today!!! I loved it though!

 I tried the Double Chocolate protein, too….it was delish…. really thick. Before this I was taking the Max Muscle Banana MaxPro…it is really thin, like water almost. I also had the IntraPro mixed with oatmeal earlier and it was pretty good. It’s a different texture than other ones I’ve tried (the dry powder I mean). It’s almost the texture of a fine sand…not like flour, if that makes any sense. I also have Vanilla, but haven’t tried that one yet.

Tomorrow will be legs….dun dun dun

I did get my new supplements today!! I had already worked out, so I’ll start with them tomorrow. I’ll try the protein tonight…IntraPro. Double chocolate. 

I went to the Taekwondo place today!! It kicked my butt!! and the guy was being easy on me today…just learning the basics. Like I said, I’ve never done it before so it was really awkward. He said I was doing good, but who knows….it’s kinda like when your mom says you’re cute….are they just saying that b/c they feel obligated or what? Either way, I walked outta there and felt like I had about a dozen blisters on my feet! It was barefoot and I’m just not used to it yet.  I’ve done kickboxing and TurboKick and stuff like that before, but nothing where you actually strike an object…always just in the air before. That was tough!! I was definitely feeling it…I did get some cute pink wrist wraps though (granted they were pretty drenched in sweat by the time I was done) ….and some bad*ss white gloves….and I ordered these cool Muy Thai shorts….Man, all this new gear to keep track of…. I go back on Friday so hopefully my poor feet will have recovered by then.

 

 

 

What did I just get myself into??

So I went to yoga this morning and was driving home. I’ve seen this Tae Kwon Do place a million times while driving home. I come up to a stop light right by the Taekwondo place. Taekwondo to my right….I’m at a stop light…Taekwondo to my right….Oh, what the heck! I hate those dull and boring stop lights anyways…always putting your life on hold (soooo annoying)…so I make a right turn into this Taekwondo place.

Inside there was this woman with gloves on and shin guards and she was working with this guy who sorta resembled Billy Blanks (although I will NOT tell him that….hey, not everyone is a BB fan). So the guy has on those padded paddle thingies  (I’ll call them that for now) and this lady is kicking, punching, jabbing, striking, yelling. Whoa—this is serious stuff right here….these people aren’t messin’ around! Ok–so long story short–I end up signing up for this, well I don’t even really know what it’s called…some kinda kickboxing. All I know is that I’m starting tomorrow and I’m gonna start doing it twice a week. This should be interesting….

 Sooo…..still no supplements. They are coming tomorrow…I can feel it. Maybe.

 

Lunges and whatnot

It is such a gorgeous day outside today that I feel a new walking lunge record coming on…..

I broke my last record last Sunday at 730 walking lunges in a row. They were good ones, not sloppy….and no cheating!!  I didn’t time them , but I think it took about 35 minutes…twice around the track. My record a few months ago was about half of that. I have a steep hill by my house and I do walking lunges up it—yes, the neighbors think I’m cuckoo….I get some weird looks.

Doing flat walking lunges is a breeze compared to the hill. It takes about 130 lunges to get up the hill. You know you are a little off-balance when you start gauging distances in walking lunges!! "The bathroom is about 7 walking lunges down the hall and to the left." Haaaa. Ok, I’m off to attempt to break the record now.

Also, I haven’t received the Gaspari supps yet, but am anxious to get started….:)

Here goes my first post…

I have been fortunate enough to be one of three women participating in this trial for Gaspari Nutrition! Thanks to Gaspari and to MsFitness for choosing me and allowing me this opportunity. I am honored and so excited to try some new products!

The stack includes three products: Intrapro protein, Cytolean and SuperPump 250—awesome products I’m sure. I have not yet received them, but will soon and then the madness will start….double challenge here with Thanksgiving/Christmas!!! I’m up for it though…no holiday weight gain for me, thank you.

I will do my best to accurately convey the following on a daily basis:

  • 1) any semblance of appetite supression
  • 2) general disposition of mood
  • 3) any enhanced mental accuity
  • 4) overall energy levels
  • 5) training/exercise in detail

And on a weekly basis:

  • 1) fat loss or general weight loss
  • 2) attenuation or increase of “effects”

I will then write a final review and post final pics—-I will post before pics later…maybe tonight

Now I must confess…I occasionally get a little overzealous and train like a mad woman…yes, it’s true. Thankfully I have never been injured and I don’t intend to do so…so I will try to keep it in check. That being said, I am really going to focus on getting enough rest/recovery…even if I have to strap myself down!!

I will post workouts when I start the supplements, but for the most part I do the following:

  • *upper body 2x/week (almost always in the form of a circuit, supersets or giant sets)
  • *lower body 2x/week–also giant sets or circuit
  • *abs 2-3x/week
  • *cardio 4-6x/week
  • *yoga 2-3x/week
  • *stretch always after each workout

As for my diet I will be eating about every 3 hours. I’ll post my diet later, along with my before pics in my blog.  Looking forward to my supps coming and getting started!!!
