So, I’ve never thought about quitting, the results are just too much fun. However, things are getting difficult. With class starting back up, I honestly dont have much time. This isnt me hunting for excuses, or trying to find a bitch way out. Working full time, and going to college full time, leaves room for little. On top of that, my "injury", or whatever it is is not healing. My anterior hypogastric region doesnt really hurt, but Im having issues taking a piss. When I do bent barbbell rows it feels like someone kicking me in the balls. Its not the "happy" pain you get from lifting, its a for real "kick in the balls" pain. Anyway… I have an apointment to see a doctor on the 6th. Im loosing wieght too fast. I feel like Im forcing myself to eat as it is. This is more than frustrating. I had all kinds of great results in the last 2-3 months, now everything is going down the shitter.

So… here we are. Its been a bit since I last made a blog entry. I try to use this for mile stones in my fitness. I started running, got hooked, loved sing how far I could go every day… just kept adding distance, more time, running faster. Did that for a month and thought I would expand in to wiehgt training. Got on the Mark Rippetoe "Starting Strength" program, have been loving it.
When I started squats, I couldnt even get my fat legs to 90%. Now I do ATGs, which I take a lotta pride in. Iv been stretching fanaticly day in and day out. Whenever I thought about it I would plop on the ground and stretch the hamstrings. However, my right hip started hurting a bit today after the squats. So far any time something started hurting (like legs or chest while running) I just went harder. Prove to myself I have the willpower to do what it takes to be fit. Seems this approach wasnt the best of ideas with the hip. I ran tonight as well. Norm I run for an hour, but I had to cut it short by over 25 min, I could hardly walk. Its very frustrating. Makes me mad really. A buddy of mine on here said something to the effects that failing is apart of this beast and getting back up after you go down is what makes you dedicated. This is what I’ll do. However, for two days Im gonna take it easy. If my hip doesnt start showing improvments, Im going to a doctor.
I know the whole crap about "no pain no gain" or whatever, and I think its true, to a point. Other wise people would just walk out infront of traffic or punch themselves in the balls and get super fit.

My pants were getting loose, to the point It was starting to be a bitch to pull them up non-stop. So I went and got some new clothes while on vacation in Ohio. Who the shit goes on vacation to Ohio… what a terrible place. My parents live there, and I wanted to say "hi" for a few days. (Im a very slow talker). Anyway… back on topic. I found out while trying clothes on I had lost 8 inches on my waist. BUT, I have not been doing it that long! I started to think of all the shit that could have gone wrong to make me loose too much fat, or maybe it wasnt fat at all, but rather muscle because I have been eating much MUCH better. BUT that cant be it, Im gettin good noob gains on my weight training, so clearly Im not starving myself. I drink tons and tons of water each day, so its not that. Also, I have much more energy than I did a month ago. WOOT!

So I was doing the deadlifts wrong. The trainer told me to lock my knees and round my back, which http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=998224 says this is a terrible thing. Why would he tell me to do the wrong god damn thing? So the right way is
1. lock back
2. have the bar in the middle of the foot next to shin
3. have shoulders on other side of bar with shoulder blades over the bar.
check…
Still chaps my ass I was told to do them wrong. Most on this site are hardcore fitness vets. Some of us dont know shit. Its seems teaching someone to round their back on a deadlift is like a drivers eduaction teacher teach a person to drive on the wrong side of the ****ing road.

So today was my first day at the Rippetoe;
3×5 squat
3×5 bench
1×5 deadlift
I wanted to start out slow, so I didnt have another disaster like in my post "my first real workout". I startedthe squat with the trainer watching me to make sure I had the right form. Note: I did this on the Smith Machine. At first it was bar +20, which was no prob. Next was bar +40, and moving right up the line was bar +60. Im not particuraly impressed by these numbers, and I highly doubt anyone of you are either. BUT, I did them right, which to me, is a big deal. Im in this for the long haul; want to do everything the correct way. WHen I go back in for my Next "A" day, I’ll have the squat on bar +70, and we’ll see what happens! (I keep saying bar here… can someone tell me how much the Smith bar is? Im retarded new to working out, and couldnt find a sticker or imprint)
Next up is the bench. Now, my chest and triceps are still somewhat of a train wreck from a few days ago when I went ape shit. I started with 75 (I know the bar this time hehe). That didnt seem too bad. So I went up to 85, which I felt a ton, I dont know if its from being weak as hell in general or from the fiasco three days ago. Anyway, I left it on 85 and struggled to finish the last set of 5. I think I could have got more, but I didnt have a spotter =(, and didnt feel like dropping the bar on my head. Call me a pussy.
Deadlift: 75. The trainer told me to keep my legs straight, but in the long ass thread about the rippetoe they say to bend the legs and low back? Can someone PLEASE tell me the -right- way to do this? Thanks a bunch.
So yeah, thats it. Tomarrow will be cardio. I’ll do an hour on an elliptical, unless told otherwise.
Im still all kinds of weak, and I will be for some time to come, but **** YEAH it feels good to be doin something about it!

I’m a noob at fitness.
I thought I could jump in and start weight training all hard core and what not… Holy shit my arms hurt. I was having issues getting out of a char, no shit. I started one day with 5 or 6 chest exercises and several triceps. The following day I did 5 bicep exercises and 4 on the back. I had this months issue of "Muscle and Fitness" and it went down an advanced plan of how to get big arms. So… I did what it said. However there were parts that said something to the effect of "if you’re new, don’t do these." but I did em anyway. Some of em I was straining so hard I thought I was going to shit myself (Preacher EZ bar curl after several other arm exercises).
So… over the last few days I read up on the Rippetoe line up and I think I’m going to do that. Well.. once I can scratch my back without wincing in agony.
Points of this post and why its in here…Walk before you can run, there is a difference between reading the forums and actually doing what people with more experience suggest, and to not be ashamed of how much weight I can lift… it only gets me hurt.

So worked out hard for the 1st time today. Needless to say it was humiliating. I felt like a little bitch, well… more of a fat bitch really. Anyway… Worked my chest and triceps. Now I can hardly close the car door after I get out. After the 1.5 hours of using dumbbells, barbells and, machines, I jogged 4.9 miles at 5-7 mph in 50 min, then cooled off for 10, which is a personal best.
Thats what I like about this training stuff the most. I look forward every day to seeing improvement in myself, even if its itty bitty.
(By the way, smoking sucks hardcore (duh, this is a fitness blog). Never thought I would regret it as much as I did today.)
