My name is Pete, formally Peter Manis, but I prefer Pete or Petey. I was getting in shape 3 years ago to go into the Marine Corps and did a decent job of gaining muscle and losing fat. I became pretty solid with a little padding on top. A year later I moved to San Diego and a lot of things went wrong, one of them being my health. I have since gone from 234 to 270, but keeping my 170 lean mass. I am uncomfortable most of the day and feel gross.

My goal is to be 200lbs with 175-180lbs lean mass by 12/31/2007, which would put me at 10-12.5% bodyfat. I need to start eating healthier and being more active. As a programmer/systems admin I do not get out as much as I used to and it is very difficult to eat healthy in my currently living situation. I will be back on my own in a month or so and back into my old routine of 5 small meals a day, supplements, and going to the gym at 5am.

I’m sure some think the 5am is a bit much, but while I work better through the night, I feel better doing things the other way around, early to rise, early to bed. I will try hard to keep this blog updated and any encouragement or update requests would help me to keep on a schedule so I don’t disappoint my readers.
