Chugging along

January 26, 2009

I did good last week! I did cardio all five of my work days. I really wanted to do cardio twice a day at least 2 of the days last week but that didn’t happen. I had family over this weekend so I ended up not working out yesterday. Not a good start to the week but I’m hoping to make up for it later.

It was a hectic week last week since I’m getting more hours in my second job (tax office), the ICM on my car decided to stop working (wouldn’t turn on), and work is really laying the micro-management philosophy thick on us. I’m surprised I was able to squeeze in some workouts in the middle of all this! Oddly enough, I think the workouts gave me more energy to get more stuff done. Now that I think about it, I didn’t go home and take a nap all of last week like I ususally do. I’m digging that.

The diet? Yeah, not happening. I don’t know why it’s so difficult to get it started this time around. I know I shouldn’t be making excuses. I just need to get it started and not think about it or look back. It’s just damn hard! I had P F Chang’s over the weekend…ohh dear God was that delicious! I’ll try it again this week. I’ll report back next week.

Sputter sputter…cough cough…

January 12, 2009

Hmmm. Not going so well. I was really focused on working out more but it hasn’t been what I had expected. I did start doing some cardio, which is good, but I am lacking with doing weights and even the amount of time I need to be doing cardio.

I hit the elliptical 3 times last week for 30 minutes at a time. I do take some small comfort in knowing that I at LEAST did this, but ultimately I know I should be doing more. My nutritious diet plan is so far none existent. The wife just cooks too damn delicious!

I would like to keep doing cardio as I am now (30 mins. during my lunch break) and then when I get home another 45 mins. of cardio. Mon, Tue, & Fri. I would like to do 30 mins of cardio and 45 mins. of weights. I think I should work my way up to this though.

So, this week I’ll do cardio 4 times during my  lunch and I hope to get in 1-2 sessions (45 mins.) after work. The diet is gonna be tough. I gained weight over the holidays (258 lbs) and then I lost about 5 lbs from the exercise last week. I indulged over the weekend and I am now at 257 lbs. I’ll start small and cut out sodas, sweets, and some breads. I also plan on drinking more water, about 3/4 gallon a day. I’ll post back my results next week. On a side note, I had a lot energy last week after my workouts when I got home. I have a desk job so the exercise was a real kick in the pants! I’m looking forward to more energy!

A journey of a thousand miles…

December 8, 2008

Well, I’ll be taking my first step today towards a leaner, meaner more healthier me! I’m hoping the format of the BodySpace website keeps me motivated to "keep at it" even through the tough times. I’ll be doing a trifecta of cardio, weights, and diet in a bid to get me to 50 pounds lost within 7 months. Let the journey begin.
