Frustration is setting in :(
I’m 2 weeks into my training schedule. I’ve been killing myself on workouts. I’m working 4 days a week heavy & hitting the other 3 lighter. My frustration is with 3 things. First of all in 2 weeks my weight has only dropped 1 lb. Second, I am killing myself to the point of muscle failure in workouts & the next day I’m not sore. Shouldn’t I be getting sore? I was told the pain meant they were worked properly. Third, a friend emailed me & said she was getting bypass surgery to lose weight. This is only bothering me because I have been working so hard for little results & to me surgery is the easy way out. So she’ll be getting skinny before I am, and I have a lot less to lose than her. Yes it’s just my competitive nature rearing it’s ugly head, but I’m doing this with blood sweat & tears…not a cop out. Sorry if that pisses some people off but I just don’t think surgery is the answer for most of the people who get it. I think it’s lack of motivation. I also think doctors are too quick to ok that surgery for too many people who could help themselves if they really tried. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions on my training please share them. I’m really frustrated to be working so hard & not seeing any results. I’d also like your opinions on the muscle soreness issue. Thanks.

I would tell you that you are completely right on the surgery issue. It is a cop out. Someone very close to me has hinted about surgery and I am completely opposed to it. Blood, sweat and tears are your pain to remind you that you are doing it the right way. Remember this, and believe me when I say that I understand your frustration, The Egyptians didn’t build the pryamids in two weeks. Some people are blessed with the gift to be able to get in shape easily and some are not. I am the latter, but I know over time I will see my results. So will you.
