Contest Prep Question

February 26, 2008

I am attempting to prep for my first bodybuilding show.  It may be the lower carb intake, but I feel like I may not have given myself enough time to properly prep for this show.  I was 270 pounds on January 1st.  I am right around 240 pounds right now.  I have not lost any strength, however.  I have lost 6 inches off my waist though.  I obviously have made great strides, but I am concerned about time.  My contest is on April 12th.  I am guessing my bodyfat to be around 12% right now.  I know everyone’s bodies are different, I just want to get some insight.  At 8 weeks out approx. what should your bodyfat percentage be?  Just some insight and advice may help.  Thanks in advance for any responces I may get…..

Tips?

October 17, 2007

I have been working out for quite some time now.  However, eating and cardio have always been my weaknesses.  I am looking for any tips that anyone may have on how they stay motivated in regards to these two areas.  I have a few, but obviously they haven’t been working that well.  So…if I could get any tips on ways to self motivate to be a better eater and to stick with the cardio I would greatly appreciate them.  Thanks in advance.

Back on track

October 16, 2007

Well….I havn’t used the blog area before, so please bear with me.  I play semi-pro football and back in June I really messed up my ankle.  I missed all the goals I had set for this year due to missed training.  Well now I am almost back on track.  I am able to slowly trot and jog.  I am also able to squat and deadlift almost like normal.  I have dropped a lot of lower body strength but have gained some upper body size and strength.  I have set some new goals and am more motivated than ever.  This is the heaviest and chubbiest I have ever been.  There is a bodybuilding show coming in April of next year, I think I would like to compete.  I am going to use this forum as a training aid to keep me on track.  I look forward to reaching these goals and being ripped and powerful.  Thanks in advance for any encouragement and advice I might recieive.
