The start of a beautiful AB Trend… haha
June 2, 2007So, here I am putting the finishing touches on plans for my first season and first cycle of training. I’ve been doing a lot of reading, talking, reviewing, and learning. Now its time to finish piecing together everything I need or want to know so that can get in to the gym and learn by action.
I’ve just come to the realization that, every fitness guru has their own version of the “fool-proof, 100% guaranteed program” for the “hardgainer” or the couch potato, etc. (And they’ll even give you your money back if it doesn’t work!) How ever, how can somebody write a program for me… if they do not know my body or me?
That’s why I’m taking the brains approach to the gym. The whole Analytical Bodybuilding title just comes from the fact that I plan on taking really good notes (as I’ve always been inclined to). This way I can see what works, what doesn’t work, remember how each exercise felt, how much weight I did, if I worked to exhaustion, if I have too much going on in one 60-minute session, etc. in terms of my body and not how it worked for someone else. I have how ever read other peoples programs, testimonies, and journals, to see what works for people and what doesn’t, and then see how that (if it can) work for me.
I’ll also try to chronicle how the 8-week swimming lessons at my college go (even though I’m SCARED to death lol). I think that in the end it’ll be the most beneficial thing I learned.
