Motivation

February 6, 2009

So this semester at school I’ve pretty much been playing catch up.  I’ve also been debating on whether or not I should cut and get the six pack I’ve always wanted or bulk to put on some more muscle.  I decided earlier this week that I was going to bulk as clean as possible so I don’t add on too much fat.  I think that would be the best route to go.

The reason I’ve been playing catch up is because last semester I was bulking and put on about 7 lbs in a month and a half (probably half muscle/ half fat) and I was really excited because people actually took notice when I came back home to visit for Christmas!  It’s the first time in my life that people have noticed a difference in my physique and it was the best feeling in the world! HOWEVER, my parents wouldn’t let me eat when I wanted to because they thought I would be too full, so as a result I lost all my hard work =[.  But this semester’s different!  This semester I’m keeping a log of my workouts (sets/reps/ etc) and it’s so motivating!! I’ve never been more motivated in my life.  My strength gains increase every workout!

For 3 sets I do as much weight as I can for about 6-8 good reps and then I’ll rest and bang out one or two more.  Long story short, I rest as much as I need to until I get about 10-12 reps.  Then my last set is a drop set.  It works wonders!  I love it! and it ensures that every workout is different from the last.
