Update on my goal to add 10lbs of LBM and track stat changes

I’ve been lifting pretty heavy and eating tons. This week my weaight went up two pounds and I am now at 170. MY bf % is at 19%. Once I get to 175 lbs I will update my stats.

I think that it is fair to say that I started this goal "informally" over the holidays. Since I knew that I was going to eat allot anyway, I decided to start to lift heavy and put myself in a bulking period. That being saidd, my starting weight and bf% of 157 @ 15% were in mid-December. Today, I weigh 168 and I am at 18%. I am looking to gain 7 more pounds. I will update my stats in a later post.

Adding 10 lbs of lbm and tracking stat changes

Last year I dropped 28 lbs and 40% of my body fat, dropping my overall bf% from 25 to 15%. I began in January and finally accomplished this goal in September. Since then, I have been a kind of lax with my diet, but I have pretty much kept up with my workouts.

At any rate, this year my goal is to gain 10 lbs of lbm.  I will start bu bulking up to 175 lbs @ 18% bf,  and then cutting down to 170 lbs @15%bf. This will result in an overall 10 lbs of lbm when comapred to the starting weight that I am usinng which is 157 lbs @15% bf

I am also going to track my body part measurements to see where the lbm winds up. My current stats are as follows:

Weight 167, BF% 19, Arm 16.75, forearm 13.25, Chest 45, Shoulder 50, Waist 32, Hips 37, Thigh 22.5, Calf 16

I will be tracking my progress each week.

Week 34 of my goal to reduce my BF % by 10 points

After almost eight months, I have finally reached my goal of getting my BF % down to 15.

I started weighing in at 185 lbs with a BF % of 25. This meant that I had LBM of 138.75 lbs and BF of 46.25 lbs.

Reaching this goal took almost three times longer than I planned, but all of this time helped me to develop a better long term diet.

I am now at 157 lbs with a BF% of 15. This gives me an LBM of 133.45 and BF of 23.55. So, of the 28 lbs of lost weight, 22.7 was fat and 5.3 was mass.

I am going to spend the next few months, maintaining the 15% BF level and work on "clean bulking" back the muscle that I lost.

Thanks to all of you who commented and checked out this blog. It was an amazing motivator to know that so many people were paying attention. 

Week 32 of my goal to reduce my BF % by 10 points

So far, I have reduced my BF by 36%. I lost two more pounds over the last couple of weeks. My weight is now down to 156 from 185. This is great!!

Unfortunately, I remain at 16% BF, so I still have 1% to go to reach my goal. I’m just going to keep at it, it’s got to happen eventually, and I like my current diet an exercise program.

Over the past two weeks I have lost one bpound and I am now down to 158 from 185.

I also dropped 1% of BF and am now down to 16% from 25%. I just need to lose 1% more to reach my goal.

I’ve hit a plateau!! I dropped a pound and am now down to 159 from185, but my BF% has remained at 17% for a full month. This is 2% higher than my goal of 15%.

This week I am cutting out carbs big time, and I am stepping up my workouts. My hope is that this will bring me down to 16% BF.

Week 26 of my goal to reduce my BF % by 10 points

Lost two more pounds this week. I am now down to 160 from 185. I remain at 17% BF. These last few % points have been really challenging. I am hoping to get down to 16% by the end of this week.

Week 25 of my goal to reduce my BF % by 10 points

Dropped 1% this week, I am now down from 25% BF to 17% BF. Worked hard and took in a lot of extra protein.

I did not loose any weight, but this is OK, because I feel like I’m getting kind of light.

Week 24 of my goal to reduce my BF % by 10 points

I lost 3 pounds this week! I am now down to 162.

For the record, I never really set out to lose weight, I was under the mistaken notion that I could literally convert my fat into muscle. So, I thought at the end of it all, I would weigh about (185 lbs)the same with more mass and more cut up.

I have since learned a great deal. My BF % remains at 18. which is disappointing because I am still 3% points away from my ultimate goal of 15%. On the positive side however it feels great to have lost the weight and I’ve been able to maintian almost all of my mass and starting to really cut up.

I am eating an almost all protein diet this week, hopefully it wll help me to drop some BF
