Can’t see the forest for the trees

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Thanks to water retention I’ve given up the thought of checking my progress right now. I’ve got a long flight ahead of me so I plan on using that time to plan out my carb cycling. I’m going to use my former coaches advice (I kept everything she gave me) and rework it a bit. The cycles she gave me is for closer to the actual comp. Not for where I am now and where I want to be by the end of the year.

Comp is not till may of next year. I don’t want to go to low now. I’ve been watching tons of Layne Norton’s web-a-sodes on here. He’s a genius. I wish that I could meet him. Both Muscle and fit hers and Oxygen had carb articles. My weight loss goal is to get with-in 10-15 lbs of my comp weight by Jan 1. Thus giving me an adequate amount of time to prepare for comp.

Work it!!!

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Well I’m adding plyos to my work-outs. I’ve got to ramp up everything. I’ve only got 10 weeks to get below 135. I don’t want to start my pre-contest training at a weight that will stress me out. I’m giving myself 16 weeks to lose an additional 15-18 pounds (contest date is mid-may, the exact date eludes me right now).

I’m starting to feel the difference in the amount of weight I can lift. Everything has gone up significantly; arms 5, legs 30, back 20 and triceps 10 (this has happened over the last 2 weeks). I’ve been using; creatine, HMB, Niox w/ folic acid, BCAA, Gluteamine, and Aminos. Protein shakes after every work-out. Obviously this combo is working. So I’m gonna stay with it for awhile. Till next time….

Progress?!

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

I put a question mark after the word progress cuz I’m not sure if I’ve made any. The explanation point is cuz I’m really hoping I have. After all I’ve cleaned up my diet and I’m consistently going to the gym 5 days per week.

My biggest issue is what if I’ve not made any progress? My clothes are definately looser, and when I feel my waist and back I’m feeling more muscle and less fat. I’m a trainer and know that I shouldn’t use the scale as the end all, be all to gauge progress. Especially since I’m lifting heavy and have a goal of adding some muscle. But…

Well I’ll know for sure come wednesday morning. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading

I’m Baacck!!

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

I’ve decide to compete May of 2010, and this time I mean it! I’ve kept all the info my coach gave me last year, so I’ve got that. Also the help from Bodybuilding dot com and all the brillient people who belong to this site, I know I’ll get there. I’m working a part time second job (very part time) and the owner of the club has told me he’ll pay my fees to join NPC and my entrance fees. In return I’ll advertise his club. Wish me luck!
