Christine Lanois’s Trip to Columbus, Ohio To Meet Her New Trainer Mike Davi

January 3, 2009

It was a busy time over the holidays hard to keep up with my progress notes……..but holidays are gone and now back on track………….Last night was new years and tough for me to celebrate - I have 9 wks to the Arnolds and need to be strict………..no screw ups!!!!!!!!!!!. I enjoyed some "rewards" with goodies over the Christmas Holidays but not back on track………and so looking forward to stepping on that stage in Cleveland……….

Well this is my progress note from attending Mike Davies Fitness Camp on Dec 19th, 2008

Well it was an awesome experience.

I flew out on Dec 19th and it took me approx 8 hrs to arrive in Columbus and approx 13 hrs on Sunday to return home because of bad weather conditions in both Toronto and Chicago……………I was exhausted from it all but still worth the flight to Columbus to finally to meet Mike Davies.

The Fitness Camp Consists of 3 days of high intensity training led by Mike Davies

The weekend included:

- Five high-intensity workouts, working all the major muscle groups
- One of Mike’s Famous Boot Camp classes
- Room and Board plus meals at Mikes House
- A nutrition plan that produces results
- A training program to take home that will help you meet your goals

The camp was great………Mike picks you up at the airport right to his home …..there was three other figure athletes with me at the camp……….we all stayed as Mikes House!!! The hospitality was fabulous and so organized. We also met Julie Palmer – IFBB Pro Figure who also made us feel very comfortable while staying at their home. Julie prepared some fabulous healthy clean recipes and we had the opportunity in digging into these tasty recipes……….

I made some new friends while at the camp and now we have kept in contact with each other – the support is great. Gwen is a great Amateur Figure Athlete; Daphne is a NPC National Figure Athlete; and Jo has just received her IFBB Pro Fitness Card……..congratulations Jo………!!! Wonderful ladies and I will always keep in touch with them………..competition at times can be a lonely sport and meeting people who understands exactly what your going through and what it takes to be a top athletes is crucial ……..it’s tough for me at times because none of my friends are into fitness and also my family is supportive but at times wonders why I even bother with this sport………but I love it and it’s a passion……….so meeting these gals was fabulous……….

Now Mike………..Well I knew he was going to kick my ass and he did……………I felt like I was in the infancy stage all over again………very different style of training for me but it was great - give me 4 wks and I’ll have it down to a T………….it’s a different mind set but I can do it – I am determined and will follow through………..!! Lot’s of supersetting/plyometics etc……. I need to think outside of the box and meeting Mike has opened my eyes to new paths with my training…………..

Another thing Dave mentioned was I am NOT too muscular for figure and to get that out of my head………….ok it’s gone!!!!! Now that was great to hear………….………..

Also I’ve decided to try Mike’s program and training prep for my upcoming Arnold Amateur Classic……….I will be receiving my new program tomorrow and looking forward to the challenge……………

He also mentioned my weak points……….which I already new but it’s nice to hear……….waist is to wide – cut’s my symmetry off and also my back is weak……..need to widen it up to make my waist look smaller. Also cannot build my shoulders more that I have due to my structure – I can add width a bit doing dumbbell laterals etc. !! Also my legs over power my upper body …I have lot’s of muscle to work with but need to stream line my physique!

But right now priority is the Arnolds – 10 wks to go………….need to lose 10 pounds………..!!!

Oh yes I forgot about Mikes’s BOOTCAMP…………fabulous 45 minute class……..now if your in Columbus you must drop by Mikes gym location and try the Bootcamp – it is a must – I did well but the hardest I found was crawling on your hands while dragging a 25 pounds plate with your feet - shit I am weak……..!!! Great for any type of conditioning; strength; endurance etc. Best I’ve seen in years. Also I found the gym Mike trains his athletes is awesome and everyone is in incredible shape – so you don’t feel like you’re the only one training hardcore……..most are great athletes/competitors – lot’s of pro athletes……..nice to have other’s motivate you because they have the same goals……!

Oh yes ………….POSING………….Worked on posing and stage presense with Mike……..it was fabulous……….!!! Now I need to practice and practice……….!

Finally I find Mike says it as it is……….no bullshit!!!! He has good people skills ……..he knows how to deal with different personalities……!!! He is assertive but knows where to draw the line with each individual………..I find he can read people well……….great

Well that is my little update with Mike Davies Camp.

Christmas Holidays………………… Over Christmas I have two cheat days………….well Mike doesn’t know that……..but I know my physique – gained 3 pounds of water. Now I am back strict and looking forward to receiving my NEW PROGRAM……..10 WKS TO GO………

Over Christmas I have turkey; stuffing; gravy; vegetables; cranberry sauce; apple pie/icecream; 5 small little coffee crisp bars; 5 small little boxes of smarties – baby ones…….lol One cheat meal on Christmas Eve and one cheat mean on Christmas day………the rest of both days I did eat clean and trained on both days………….I was at my sisters place and they have a great gym in the basement !!!!! Thank goodness………….

k that is my update on my progress…………..so stay tune. 10 wks to the Arnold Classic. I would like to thank everyone for all their support and kind wors……….Wishing everyone the best in 2009! Happy New Year.

Sincerely
Christine Lanois

November 30, 2008

Hi everyone - it’s November 28th, 2008
14 wks out to U.S. Competition

I am approx 130 pounds right now an I think I am at 17% bodyfat? Well I am feeling leaner and some of the lines are coming out!!!!…….Need to be careful and not lean out to quickly………hee hee….!! Don’t want to get to striated………..boohhhhh !!

I did have a cheat evening meal late last week……..was dropping a little too fast……..my son just loves it when I cheat………lol Had little bit of everything I could find in the cupboards………..

Well my diet is approx 1800 calories still - 65% carbs and the rest protein………you know I don’t really weigh my food or even write things down………I just do it………I know my physique so well that just looking in the mirror I know what needs to be done…….that comes with years of experience and being comfortable with your choices…..also it’s thanks to a great traininer Laura Binetti who has taught me all I know today!!!!…… I think I will start to write things down today so to keep better track of my changes….It will be a good guide to bring with me when I fly out to Columbus Dec 19th to learn some new fitness/dieting tips…:) My diet still consist lot’s of carbs……..yams; shreaded wheat; brown rice; salads; lot’s green vegetables; apples; strawberries etc. I don’t believe in a low carb diet and never will…………I’ve tried it all with 28 yrs of training……..I have 6 meals a day and sometimes just I can’t eat it all. My protein is chicken; white fish; red meat or salmon twice a week; tuna. I can have fat free yogart; blueberries; strawberries; apples; unsweetened apple sauce………lot’s of water…….I use crystal lite and make crystal lite popsicles…..

The next three weeks I will lose some weight and become a little flat……..I kinda hate this stage. Just trying to bring the bodyfat down lower and then I can feel out……….

Last week my damn treadmill got stuck on a incline and still not able to fix it. So just lifted the back end onto a large block and she is in perfect working order again……..thank goodness.

Training in the gym:

Training 5 day a week

Two cardios a day
1. 45 minutes running on the treadmill
2. 45 minutes moving stair climber

Training with weights - one body part per day……..trying to change it to a cross training !!! Less weights………that is not going so well….just love my weights!!!! But I am training like a beast……….lol

Finding it hard to take all my vitamins everyday………but just hate popping all those vitamins……….and supplements; but I need to push myself on getting this done on a regular basis. See my previous notes on what supplements I take in on a regular basis.

Hey guys you may want to skip this section…lol…….Well this is raw reality the hardest time for me getting ready for a show is one week before the female menstrual cycle……I get so exhausted for one who week……….it’s like I am dragging a large brick on a chain…so exhausting I can’t even run on the treadmill and also I want to cheat like crazy. I find as I age I get more tired……blood results are all good but still trying to figure out how to boost my energy during that exhausting week…Tried loading on B vitamins etc. But it doesn’t help. So if anyone has any ideas spread the news………

I will start Work From Home January 17th and goodness that will make a drastic change in preparing for the show……..can’t wait…

That’s the update…………again thank you for all your kind words and support………wishing everyone a HAPPY time celebrating their THANKSGIVING weekend.
