Building A Gym With Just A Dream Part 4!

OK so I went again to look at the dowtown property, took photo’s, made a short video, and have drawn everything to scale only to find out that it most likely not would not pass for gym usage. The engineer that has it for rent said the code for flooring is 100 lbs. per square foot and with him being an engineer he knew that it does not meet that. I will try to still post the video and photos that I took just to show you all the character that this place has, it’s awesome. There was some good news however as the same guy has another place that would actually be better and the utilities would be a lot less expensive. The problem here is that it is in a better commercial building, in a better location, and not for rent but is for sale. Not knowing the price as of yet I can assure you it will be out of range for a guy that earns only 28 G’s a year. So onward I march to find something else sighhh……..

Keep looking I’m sure it’s just around the corner. Maybe something with a concrete floor. You’ll find it.

Yeah i have found a couple others but the rent is too high for what I am looking for. As I said I do not plan to have a ton of members but instead I want to have the serious ones!

Good luck with opening your gym. I too have the same dream and hope to have it up and running sometime next year. It will be more of a small personal training studio for individuals. I’m trying to attract housewives, extremely busy businessmen & women and over weight individuals. These individuals are more incline to hire an individual to train them oppose to going to a large health club. I’m having to look up north in the DC area for my studio. Good luck man and keep us posted on opening your gym.

Good luck with that mate.. keep us posted on how your hunt goes. Never know, maybe sometime in the future i’ll come over from UK and visit your gym! Good hardcore gyms over here are few and far between, well non-existent, especially where I live. Full of people sailing along on level one of the exercise bike doing nothing basically… you know the type. Anyway, hope you find a place for your gym!

Thanks a lot guys. I should be writing a new blog post today once I look at a new space I just found. it is a little further away from what I want but I think it would work! I’ll keep everyone posted.
