Happy New Year!

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately , but with the holidays things can get hectic.

Anyways things are basically the same for me as they have been for about a month… so i’ve thrown some cardio into the mix and back on a Ketogenic Diet ( which i seem to really enjoy and get the best results from !! ) Just after 3 days im down about 5 lbs…mostly water yes but that is always good for motivation!!! Change does a body good!

My coach has a 12 week transformation going on with a bunch of his clients so i decided to give it a whirl.. an extra push and it is good to see others have goals and try their best to reach them!! that takes me into april..so hopefully by that time ill reach my goal of 15% body fat…maintain for a little bit then decide on which show i want to do IF i decide to do another show in 2008! Right now one of my motivations is my brothers wedding in september 2008 im in the wedding party and of course want to look good in a dress :)

anyways im off to get my gym gear in check and hit my back today!

Happy New year may all your dreams , goals and wishes come true!

Weight loss vs. FAT loss

Monday, November 12th, 2007

After the many years of ‘dieting’ and training i can honestly say that what the scale tells me doesnt affect me nearly as much as it has in the past!!!! After introducing carbs back into my diet after about 2.5 months of NONE i feel pretty water blogged, but within 2 weeks that will go down..my strength is great and energy is kick-ass!!! i needed to change things up and now im just haveing my carbs all around my training leaving the rest of my meals protein and fats and non workout days just protein and carbs.

I was up 8 lbs on the scale but DOWN with the body fat!!! i am finally into the teens; sitting at 19.4 % and was 29% just in the summer. I am happy with my progress to date and excited for the near future!

things seems to be going in the right direction, but of course not as fast as i would wish for…but as the saying goes slow and steady wins the race!

until next time

Emerge

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

My training has taken a turn for the better!!! i’ve dropped a gym i wasn’t happy at and am now at  new one . I have the option now  of working out at a private studio ( my coach’s) and the gym i work at. I really do like the studio atmosphere. I can really put my mind into the muscles and get an amazing workout without having to worry about who is looking at me, what people are saying and most importantly no broken/ run down equipment.

I just got back from a shoulder workout and i truely don’t think i’ve had a ‘pump’ in my delts like this ever!!!!!! goes to prove that you can’t just go through the motions and expect results; your mind has to be in that gym with you!!

People are starting to notice changes, which is flattering but because I’ve been over weight and rebounded so much in my life I’m not sure if I will ever believe anyone until i can tell myself and see for myself that I am changing and feel good about myself….. something im working on each day.

I feel the best right now then i have EVER while dropping pounds,  YES even when i was contest dieting before when i lean and small….. WHY? because im NOT starving myself and not doing 2 hrs of cardio a day. My moods are sky high, my attitude has changed and most importantly I am having a life outside of the gym..mind you i find i am truely my happiest with my fitness friends and in the gym!! its my drug of choice.

I invite all of you to visit www.timetoemerge.com - there are great articles and recipes on the site and more will be added to the site in the near future…without these people in my life I’d probably be laying in bed and hopped up on antidepressants, instead I have goals that aren’t too far out of reach and a whole new outlook on my life!

Tomorrow is weigh - in and im feeling pretty good!

God Bless

Chris

1 more week!

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

One more week until i write my police tests - wooohoo.  I am feeling pretty confident but it is stressful either way!

After having my carb up weekend last week I am finally starting to feel normal again, not so water blogged and not so lazy! Monday and Tuesday I didn’t feel that great what so ever! I am going to stay away from carbs up as I feel they really do not benefit me and i feel just fine without them!!!! Never thought I could eat so many eggs/eggwhites in a day and not get sick of them :) amazing what spices can do to your food!

I am hoping that next week will be better for scale readings its been all over the map this week..down 6 lbs one day up 3 lbs another day and it plays with my head BIG time..trying my best not to touch the damn thing..i really believe sugar + scale are the two devils when it comes to losing weight, atleast for me !

I don’t have much more to report on.. just trying to procrastinate more before I start studying for the day!! Until next week…

 God Bless

Carb up + sprints

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

Well I wont go into too much detail about what a shitty week i had…but murphy’s law was in FULL effect!!  I think ive had enough bad luck to last me several months, on with the good luck!!!

This weekend will be my first carb up since being on keto - not going to go over board just switching the fats to carbs..and because that is playing with my mind a ‘little’ bit I have kicked up my spriting , in which im doing soley for my police testing which is on September 29th! I hate running but sprints gives me a burst of energy and a feeling of accomplishing something rather than just running on a treadmill like a hamster! The university is close to me so it’s handy and not to mention some of the varisty athletes practicing near by ( males of course ).

Other then that i’d say things are on track..people are starting to notice small changes in me which is always motivating :) : ) :) ..

wish me luck on my tests and hopefully no more bad luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless

Here are some pictures of my rebound after my show, me currently and after shots still to come.

In all honesty i don’t think i would change anything about my intial weight loss/figure show/ rebound… i have learned so much about OTHERS and MYSELF and it has made me a better personal not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well…

hard work + determination + support + motivation = SUCCESS!!!

in the zone…

Friday, August 31st, 2007

What a feeling it is to be back in the zone after struggling for a year and a  little bit!!!!

Everything is finally in order for me ! training couldn’t be better, diet is AMAZING - never thought i’d be saying that and professionally things are looking up for me - i am going to write my police tests at the end of the month - keep your fingers crossed for me!

In the back of my mind I’ve pick a show date, but because my coach is good at what he does he wont let me step on stage unless im ready - mentally and physically - but i think when the time rolls around I will be more then ready :) :) amazing what can be accomplished in a year - and i will only be 23 and have done my 2nd show!!!!!!

I am at my lowest weight currently then i have been for some time… i’ve lost a total of 20lbs this summer and that keeps dropping by decemeber I will be looking like a lean mean eating machine :)

Thank you everyone for your constant comments and feedback it’s what pushes me and motvates me :)

God Bless

Cuba

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Well I am back home safe and sound. My last day in cuba we got some heavy winds from the storm but nothing serious. I don’t think cuba will get hit hard thank god as i met some very nice locals and my heart would break to see them go through such disasters. What i thought was going to be a vacation quickly turned into a history lesson followed by a life changing experience. I learned so much about their culture and lifestyle it really changed the way i view things in my life - all for the better. Diet and  training and work will no longer be chores for me rather a blessing from God that i have everything in my life ( friends, family and love ).

I was happy to come home to my friends, family, own home and I can honestly say i am very lucky and proud to be Canadian.

I got 1st degree  burns on my shoulders so working out has taking a back seat i went back yesterday and it felt great with minimal pain. Keto diet started back up today as i did puff up on the trip from water retention!!!!

here are some pictures of my venture to Cuba.

Ketogenic Diet

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

well after telling my good friend and coach i had booked a trip they suggested to me to try a keto diet to tighten up and lose some water…. i thought what the heck doesn’t hurt to try…but i must admit was very hesitant..how the hell was i going to drop weight by eating turkey bacon, full eggs, whiipped cream and cheese?!?!?! along with my morning cardio i can say in 6 days im down 3 lbs…and no its not mostly water..pants that didnt fit me fit me nicely..my delts and arms are showing huge improvements :) I almost don’t want to go away because im in the zone again..but now i know where things stand for me when i return home.

My plan isn’t to pig out while away maybe 2/3 days of some treats here and there and limit carbs before 3/4pm..main reason for going away is sun and beach..not food!!!

for anyone who wants WICKED good recipes..these are quick and easy and hit the taste buds ENJOY :)

day #1

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Well I ‘ve booked a trip to Varadero Cuba for august 12th.. I need the mental and physical break and haven’t ever really travelled so I thought while I am still young and can up and leave HECK why not!!!

today marks the first day of what id like to think as ‘prep’ while others may say crash ‘dieting’ my coach has set me up on a keto diet and ive begun 30 mins cardio in the A.M with weights in the P.M… morning cardio with a friend sure isn’t that bad :) THANKS DEE…. Idea is to tighten up as much as possible take the week in cuba to enjoy some food - not go overboard then when i get back get back at ‘er.

keep ya’ll posted on the 12 days experiment :)

GOD BLESS

christine
