What do I want???
Im having a hard time figure out what I want to do with myself…I just want to be lean and cut, but I feel like I lose muscle in my upper body pretty easily so as soon as I try to lean down a bit my arms look tiny. So I cant figure out if I want to really try to put on some muscle while its winter time, and I dont have to worry about being a little soft (if I can handle that). or if I should just diet down and see how much muscle I can keep. Grrr…..I wish I could do both at the same time! hahaha
So right now I am going to be doing full body 3 times a week ( used to do 4day split, but I tend to overtrain) and adding cardio in about 3, maybe 4 times a week.
With my diet, I think I am just going to try to get enough protein, but I feel like lately I’ve been making more progress when I just listen to my body and what it wants rather than trying to get specific grams…..of course I always eat very healthfully though!!
I need to post new pics, all of them except for my abs are like 3 months old…and I have made some progress since then
Well, lets just hope I figure out what I want to be doing…and hope I get my body there!

I read your profile and comments and think you are on the right track. I think that you should keep training hard and keep just a little bit of extra weight on until you know if you are going to compete or know what exactly you want to do. I compete every year in a natural show and when I begin to cut the size just seems to go away, but the muscle tone is really good so that bit of extra weight has helped. Anyway keep up the good work.

I know how you feel. I like the lean and cut look, but feel too small once i get there. My arms look thin and my chest really gets small. Eventhough i try to stay cut all year long, my body tells me when i am overdoing it and when it wants some fattening foods. I have been side tracked twice in the last two months due to the holidays, but mostly becuase i started my diet in Oct and my body was rebelling alittle since i was very strict and did not do cheat days. Now with the turn of the new year, i am refocused, so i still have a little bit more i need to take off. But luckily not much. My advice to you is this- you know how you feel when you are thin and when you are carrying a little weight. With me, i hate to see my with carrying weight. But for you, maybe you can last a few months of it. just enough to put on muscle. Good luck on your decision, cause it is not an easy one.

Cgirl, contrary to popular belief you can have it all. Maintain or add to your muscle mass while becoming lean and cut. Its all a matter of the proper diet and correct workout including cardio. Jeff Willet and Skip La Cour are defininite examples of this and maintain there structure all year round. Not that I am a prime example but I have been able to maintain my mass and keep that hard earned muscle (in addition to adding muscle/weight) while getting leaner. Also increasing weight in all lifts / getting stronger.
